Assassin’s Creed Mirage – Title Update 1.0.5 Goes Live November 7th, Improves Visuals and Fixes Bugs

Ubisoft’s Montreal and Quebec studios have traditionally been the lead developers on most mainline Assassin’s Creed titles, but the company has occasionally pulled in other teams to work on instalments as well. Recently, Ubisoft Bordeaux – which also developed Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s first expansion, Wrath of the Druids – released its first instalment in the series with Assassin’s Creed Mirage, and it looks like its association with the property isn’t done just yet.

New World has expanded the PTR test for the upcoming Season 3 update, Eternal Frost. The test now includes additional narrative content, events, and some fixes.

Good news for those Assassin’s Creed fans who’ve already finished Mirage - a far more accomplishable task than in the series’ last few games - and are itching to dive back into the streets of ninth-century Baghdad for a fresh challenge: New Game Plus will arrive for free next month, along with a punishing new permadeath mode.

Not to be harsh, but I was never fond of Assassin's Creed's little detour into the endless open world meta in recent years. A series that was once lauded for its clinical stealth-based killings had slowly morphed into a reckless RPG with greater emphasis on quest hoarding, gear system, and heavy-handed combat. The new Assassin Creed games carried such little resemblance to the early titles in the franchise that if Ubisoft were to strategically rebrand it, no one would raise questions. Sure, they fared well commercially, but with time, the formula got stale and a desperate need for a refresh was never more apparent. And so, the studio's solution is to revisit its glory days and create a familiar Assassin's Creed experience that caters to loyalists by turning a once-destined AC Valhalla DLC into a standalone experience — a throwback set in the dusty but vibrant locale of ninth-century Baghdad.

Ubisoft has announced that Assassin’s Creed Mirage will be updated in December with a patch that introduces a new game plus mode — and the first ever permadeath mode in the Assassin’s Creed series.

Assassin’s Creed recently launched a brand new installment into the marketplace this past month. With Assassin’s Creed Mirage, the developers returned to the more classic style of Assassin’s Creed gameplay. It’s a smaller storyline and doesn’t feature the massive open-world exploration that some of the previous RPG releases contained. So, chances are you’ve already finished the game and are waiting for something new to enjoy. If you want to stick around with the Mirage installment a bit longer, we have word that an update is coming to the game next month that might entice another playthrough.
