Alan Wake 2 knitting pattern revealed - make Saga's jumper yourself!

After years of working, we released Alan Wake 2 a bit over a month ago. We wanted to create an ambitious, unique game, and with something like that there’s always nervousness about how it will be received. The reception has been beyond anything we could have hoped for, with Alan Wake 2 taking home The Game Awards trophies for Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, and Best Game Direction. We are deeply grateful for that. 

Old Gods of Asgard, the fictional heavy metal band from Alan Wake 2, has entered the iTunes global top 10 album charts.

Baldur's Gate III took home the top honour at The Game Awards 2023, held early Friday in Los Angeles, besting its lead competitor Alan Wake II. The Dungeons & Dragons-based sprawling RPG, which was strongly revered by both fans and critics alike, bagged six trophies, including Best Community Support and Best Performance. The latter was collected by Neil Newbon, who played Astarion, the silver-haired vampire spawn, holding our attention with his melodramatic persona and the occasional high-pitched screeches. Meanwhile, Remedy's Alan Wake 2 won four awards across some of the most important categories, with co-directors Sam Lake and Kyle Rowley emerging as the best game directors of the year, alongside a writing/ narrative nod.

A funny thing happened when I sent questions over to Alan Wake 2 composer Petri Alanko. After he sent over his responses, I had the uncanny experience of realizing they sounded like something Alan Wake himself would write.

Remedy is known for its meta-narratives and intricately detailed worlds. Fans are familiar with this, and a hidden QR code demonstrates just how forward-thinking the Finnish developers are.

I kind of miss the days where Black Friday was just one day of over-the-top sales and discounts. Since Alan Wake 2’s launch in late October, developer Remedy Entertainment has released a number of patches for the survival horror title to sand out some of its lingering rough edges. Now, Update 12 has rolled out for the game as well, and it brings a host of additional fixes and improvements.

Deputies Thornton and Mulligan become corrupted by the forces of shadow haunting and emerge as two bosses you must beat in a grueling fight. These people have been empowered by supernatural forces and are a massive challenge for Saga to overcome. Bringing some light into the dark forest where these two are is the only way to take down these former officers turned cult members.

In an interview with Game Developer, Remedy’s Sam Lake and Kyle Rowley spoke at length about Saga Anderson, her importance in the story, and how the team went about creating this intriguing character.
