In just a few days, Final Fantasy 14 will play host to the Final Fantasy 15 collaboration event, which will run from February 28 to March 13. Originally launched in 2019, the collaboration event between Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 15 last appeared in Eorzea in 2021, a few months before the launch of Endwalker, and gave players a chance to claim some rewards based on Final Fantasy 15.
With the Dawntrail expansion still months away from release, Final Fantasy 14 has once again turned to rerunning past collaboration events as a way to give new and returning players a chance to experience them. From January 22 to February 5, the Final Fantasy 11 collaboration event, The Maiden's Rhapsody, which featured the character Iroha, returned to Final Fantasy 14 for the first time since 2022. While The Maiden's Rhapsody was not a new event, Dawntrail will have the Echoes of Vana'diel alliance raid series as part of a larger collaboration between the Final Fantasy series' two MMORPGs. It remains to be seen if and when The Maiden's Rhapsody will get another run during Dawntrail.
But, Final Fantasy 14 players will have another fan-favorite event to look forward to soon. According to Square Enix, the Final Fantasy 15 event, A Nocturne for Heroes, starts on Wednesday, February 28, at 2:00 AM Eastern, and concludes two weeks later, on Wednesday, March 13, at 10:59 AM Eastern. This means that A Nocturne for Heroes will overlap with the ongoing Moogle Treasure Trove campaign, which will conclude its first half on Monday, March 11. Some of the rewards Final Fantasy 14 players can earn include the Lucian Locks hairstyle, the Lucian Prince's Attire, and the Regalia Type-G mount, which has four seats and is capable of flight.
Final Fantasy 14 players will need to reach level 50 and complete the quest «The Ultimate Weapon» to begin the collaboration quests. The first quest, titled «The Man in Black,» is started in the city of Ul'dah, by speaking with Kipih Jakkya near the Immortal Flames' grand company headquarters. Square Enix also stated that new Final Fantasy 14 players must first purchase the game. This means that players who just started playing Final Fantasy 14 via the Xbox beta client will unfortunately be left out.
It remains to be seen if past collaboration events such as Yo-Kai Watch and Dragon Quest will receive reruns before Dawntrail. Between Final Fantasy 14 hosting a Final Fantasy 16 collaboration event starting in early April, and the return of the FF15 event, players will have more to do soon.
