Although helping Glut doesn’t affect the main plot, it would mean wiping out a peaceful colony and leaving a new, crueler one in its place.
One of the most crucial decisions of the game comes at the end of Act 2, where the party finally find the Nightsong and discover that the «relic» is actually an aasimar. The party can choose to free Aylin from her 100 years of imprisonment and torture to potentially gain a new ally. The other choice is to allow Shadowheart to fulfill her mission from Shar and kill Aylin, which she claims is her lifelong desire, but with large parts of her memory missing, she is being to question that.
Allowing Shadowheart to kill Aylin will result in Shadowheart fully committing to Shar and ending any romance with the player. It will also alter her Act 3 content and doom everyone at Last Light Inn.
