Xbox has reduced its $1 Game Pass Ultimate trial from a month to 14 days

Microsoft has ended its latest $1 Xbox Game Pass promotion, days before the release of its much-anticipated exclusive Starfield.

Bad news, Xbox fans – you won't be able to play Starfield for $1, because Xbox has withdrawn the $1 14-day Xbox Game Pass trial. Again.

When I saw Forza Motorsport at Summer of Gaming a couple of months ago, I came away a little disappointed. Forza’s pedigree of having some of the most gorgeous visuals of any racing game is well known, and while the latest iteration of Motorsport undoubtedly looked good, it lacked polish at the time. Ghostrunner 2 has a release date and that release date is October 26th. The confirmation comes from One More Level and 505 Games, who confirmed that date today. There will be three editions of Ghostrunner 2, with the Brutal Edition granting two days early access, allowing those who buy it to play the game from October 24th.

Swedish games firm Embracer Group has said it is moving on from the collapsed $2 billion partnership it announced at back in May.

11.6 million console and PC games were sold in July across Europe, up 34% over the same period in 2022.

The busy fall calendar of game releases remains in flux. Remedy Entertainment and publisher Epic Games have pushed back the Alan Wake II release date by 10 days to October 27th, and it seems the decision isn't specifically to do with giving the studio more time to polish the game. "October is an amazing month for game launches and we hope this date shift gives more space for everyone to enjoy their favorite games," a tweet on the Alan Wake Twitter (ugh, X) account reads.
