Xbox Game Pass subscribers are in for a treat, as two very different yet fun indie games are being added to the service on February 15, 2024: PlateUp! and A Little to the Left. Gamers in search of a cozy and relaxing puzzle title will enjoy Max Inferno’s A Little to the Left, which is coming to PS4, PS5, and Xbox Game Pass. The meditative game about organizing and cleaning up messes is sitting at a “Very Positive” review rating on Steam. In fact, over a million copies were sold on PC and Switch in its first year, a notable feat for a little indie game that some people might consider niche.
Sporting a pleasant aesthetic and chill soundtrack, A Little to the Left has a similar vibe to 2021’s Unpacking, setting gamers in a serene environment and tasking them with tidying up everyday household objects. For each puzzle, an array of items will be placed before the player, who will then decide how they can best be arranged. Some of the screens will have more than one solution, and there is also a hint system and a “Let It Be” option to skip any puzzle that’s perhaps a little too much of a stumper.
A Little to the Left will be available to purchase for $14.99 on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S beginning on February 15, but Game Pass subscribers can check it out at no extra cost. Its addition to Microsoft’s subscription service means that gamers will be able to enjoy the charming puzzler on PC with Xbox Play Anywhere and even on their mobile device via cloud gaming. The first DLC, “Cupboards & Drawers” will launch alongside the main game for $5.99, adding more than 25 new levels and some new challenges like secret compartments.
On the other end of the spectrum is the chaotic game about running a restaurant called PlateUp!, which can be played solo or with up to three friends. Available on PC since August 2022, the game launches on Switch, PS4, and PS5, as well as Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S via Game Pass on February 15. It combines permanent roguelite progression with frenetic restaurant management in the same vein as Overcooked and currently enjoys an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam.
Players will build a restaurant from the ground up and oversee all the little details of such an endeavor, from choosing appliances to selecting menu options to serving customers. PlateUp! also caters to the designer in every gamer, letting them personalize the layout of their restaurant, change the wallpaper and wall art, and even opt for a high-tech kitchen with conveyor belts and turbo ovens or go for something a little more traditional.
