With a strong commitment to progress and willingness to listen to the community, the developers at 2K have delivered something that is satisfying for hardcore players and accessible for new ones. Although general enhancements have made the game much more fun, one mode in particular stands out as the best of the best in .
The MyRise career mode has long been one of the more popular features in 2K's wrestling franchise, and has improved upon it tremendously. The career mode in previous installments, while they did feature choices and different paths, felt much more calculated and stiff. 's MyRise mode is much more immersive than years past, offering a versatile and intriguing path to the top coupled with some of the best gameplay mechanics the franchise has seen in years.
It's refreshing to see the career mode in expanded with such a commitment in a year when has abandoned the story aspect in its MyCareer mode almost entirely. These game modes allow players the unique experience of putting themselves in the shoes of some of their favorite athletes and icons, and being a part of a world that is otherwise inaccessible. The improvements to the MyRise mode were long overdue and have given players around the world a chance to live out their wildest fantasies as World Wrestling Entertainers.
With a roster of over 200 wrestlers in , there's no shortage of opponents to square off against on their path to stardom in MyRise career mode. A feature that the franchise is no stranger to is the option to choose different stories in the race to greatness. features Unleashed and Undisputed storylines, which each present vastly different rewards, interactions, and choices. Both paths are worth experiencing at least once, but they could not be more different from one another.
The Unleashed story in is similar to The Lock in, in which players start small and work their way through the ranks to become a WWE Champion. Unleashed is much more of a slow-burn story that features many small rivalries with other wrestlers. However, the downside to a much more drawn-out story of this nature is that some matches and squabbles inevitably feel less consequential
