World of Warcraft Classic is nearing the release of Phase 3 for Season of Discovery, and the next stage is scheduled to add the Sunken Temple as a Level 50 raid, and give players a powerful world buff for braving its depths. It's fair to say that World of Warcraft Classic struck gold with Season of Discovery, as the number of subscribers has risen steadily ever since its debut in November 2023. Whereas adding a Hardcore Mode was insanely popular for streamers and grizzled Classic veterans, Season of Discovery was made with a broader appeal in mind.
The addition of runes to World of Warcraft classes in Season of Discovery has allowed the developers to be bold and creative with their design choices. As a concept, Season of Discovery takes World of Warcraft players on a familiar journey across old Azeroth, but with new class dynamics such as Mage healers, Shaman tanks, and dedicated melee Hunters. The first phase ended at Level 20 with the Blackfathom Deeps as its raid, while the current second phase ends at Level 40 with Gnomeregan.
The next step of a player's journey in Season of Discovery begins on April 4, 2024, when the third phase is scheduled to launch. The level cap will be raised to Level 50, and its endgame raid will be an iconic dungeon from World of Warcraft's history – the Sunken Temple. While the Sunken Temple was simplified with the Catalysm dungeon revamp, World of Warcraft players will be getting the full experience in Season of Discovery. Furthermore, much like Gnomeregan and Blackfathom Deeps, Wowhead has datamined that Sunken Temple will come with its own world buff, which will provide an increase to all stats by 8%, increased spell damage by 65, and increased critical strike chance by 5%.
Depending on the choice of their faction in World of Warcraft, players will be able to easily access the Sunken Temple by taking the flight point to either Stonard in the Swamp of Sorrows (Horde) or Nethergarde Keep in the Blasted Lands (Alliance). The new Sunken Temple raid is designed with 20 players in mind, and will feature 8 bosses for World of Warcraft players to challenge. It will have a weekly loot lockout, and will launch on April 4, 2024, with the rest of the third Season of Discovery phase.
While the Sunken Temple will likely be the endgame focus in Phase 3, there is a new open world event coming to Season of Discovery as well. Nightmare Incursions will take place in the zones of Feralas, Ashenvale, Duskwood, and the Hinterlands, which will pit players against the forces of corruption, with content and rewards scaling from Level 25 to Level 50. Players will be able to access the new content by entering the emerald portals in the four aforementioned World of Warcraft zones.

During the inaugural Triple-i Initiative showcase, with titles like The Rogue Prince of Persia and Slay the Spire 2 announced, Pocketpair revealed the first teaser for Palworld’s Arena update. It will add PvP to the title, allowing players to fight each other with teams of three Pals. However, the team’s version of the teaser indicated that it would launch in Summer 2024, which was a mistake.
A «major» Palworld update is scheduled for this summer, though it won't have the previously-promised PvP Arena. Palworld recently made an appearance at the Triple-I Initiative showcase, a special event dedicated to revealing new information about upcoming indie games.
Pokemon GO developer Niantic has revealed that the Psychic-type Legendary Pokemon Necrozma will arrive as a new raid boss during Pokemon GO Fest 2024. Pokemon GO players may team up during the event to take on the new raid boss and potentially encounter a Shiny Necrozma.
World of Warcraft Season of Discovery Phase 3’s new Sunken Temple raid is extremely challenging, having walled players with its difficulty far longer than any other in Classic history. For the first time in World of Warcraft, a Classic raid hasn’t been conquered in a matter of hours, making the Sunken Temple one of the hardest raids in it to date.
During CD Projekt RED's annual earnings call, The Witcher 4 (codenamed Polaris) came up several times, albeit as no surprise. New Joint CEO Michał Nowakowski told investors (and any fans that might be listening, of course) that they can expect The Witcher 4 to go beyond simply retreading the massive success of the third installment thanks to the addition of new gameplay features and mechanics.
A newly published patent from Sony may support rumors and speculation of a new PlayStation handheld device in development. Unlike the PlayStation Portal, Sony references the PlayStation Vita, PlayStation Portable, and PSP Go as predecessors for the new patent.
Season of Discovery has always been about making bold changes to the World of Warcraft Classic formula, and Phase 4 is set to completely rework endgame tier sets for all classes. Whereas the original intent behind World of Warcraft Classic was about preserving and allowing players to experience the content as it used to be, Season of Discovery embraces its experimental side. New class combinations, new items, new events, and new raids have managed to breathe life into Classic servers, as World of Warcraft subscriptions are on the rise.
Earlier this month, the world lost a one-of-a-kind creative talent with the news of Akira Toriyama’s passing. While Dragon Ball will always be Toriyama-sensei’s best-known work, he leaves behind a legacy full of many other imaginative worlds across games, anime, and manga. Before leaving us, he worked with Bandai Namco to flesh out one of his short manga creations further: Sand Land. Alongside a new anime series, Toriyama-sensei gave input on a videogame adaptation of Sand Land that would allow players to explore this unique world for themselves.
With Season of Discovery Phase 3 datamining we found many different new items, likely connected to the new Sunken Temple level-up raid. Earlier today we published an article detailing everything we know about the new Sunken Temple Raid, which is a 20-player raid with 8 bosses. Blizzard still has some secrets in store, as we're not sure which boss drops each item. There are also new items that form a set for each armor proficiency!
The next Mass Effect game will be led by trilogy veterans across several key positions on the development team. While the game is still a long way off, BioWare has slowly teased a new Mass Effect title since its initial announcement in December 2020. A beloved sci-fi franchise, Mass Effect set the stage for BioWare's modern era by introducing the dialogue wheel, a voice-acted protagonist, and leaning even further towards BioWare pillars such as memorable companions and romance.
Dragon's Dogma 2 allows for some truly bizarre gameplay moments, as demonstrated by a video of a player tossing a live pig back-and-forth with their Pawns. Though it initially had a negative reception on launch day, and the technical issues persist in major cities such as Vernworth, Dragon's Dogma 2 has catapulted itself to the top of the Steam chart with a high number of concurrent players seemingly enjoying the game despite its shortcomings. It is Capcom's biggest launch to date on the platform, which bodes well for Dragon Dogma's future as an RPG franchise.
