World of Warcraft Classic fans are discovering that flight path NPCs become hostile to everyone during the new Blood Moon PvP event in Season of Discovery. Anything goes in this free-for-all PvP event, and World of Warcraft fans will need to be extra careful when traveling to Season of Discovery's version of Stranglethorn Vale.
Recently, World of Warcraft began the second phase of Season of Discovery, its experimental spin on its Classic Era servers. The update raised the level cap on these servers to 40, added new Runes for World of Warcraft players to find, and introduced a free-for-all PvP event in Stranglethorn Vale called The Blood Moon.
However, now that players have had a few days to reach the new WoW Classic Season of Discovery level cap and experience the Blood Moon, they are seeing just how dangerous the event is. AnthonyKO was one such fan, who discovered that more than just players became hostile to each other under the Blood Moon. While visiting Booty Bay during the event, they found that Gyll, the Alliance Flight Master, was hostile, meaning they couldn’t fly away from the zone to reach safety while it was active. They shared their findings on the Classic WoW Reddit as a warning to their fellow fans who dare tread in Stranglethorn Vale during the event.
The Blood Moon event takes place for 30 minutes once every three hours. During the World of Warcraft Classic event, all characters are flagged as hostile to one another – even among the same faction. Characters can gain stacks of the Blood for the Blood Loa buff by killing monsters and players, but lose some stacks upon death. The buff stacks can be converted into Blood Coins by approaching a blood altar, which can then be exchanged for powerful gear and unique mounts.
Fans may not be able to escape The Blood Moon via Flight Masters, but they can still use Zeppelins and Ships to safely leave the area and continue their leveling journey in WoW Classic Season of Discovery. Additionally, players who want to opt out of the event can do so by speaking with the Zandalarian Emissary at Grom’Gol Base Camp or the northern entrance to the zone – though they will lose all stacks of Blood for the Blood Loa they may have by doing so.
Players got a kick out of this terrifying detail about The Blood Moon, as it made the vicious event feel even more deadly. World of Warcraft fans should tread carefully as they level up in Stranglethorn Vale, as they will not want to be stranded and caught unprepared when the world event begins.
