It’s been another cold week, and one that’s proven perfectly suited to wrapping up and playing video games. I’ve been working my way through Banishers: Ghosts of New Eden, and we’ll have the review for that one on Monday. Other than that, there’s been a chunk of Suicide Squad, a heap of Naruto X Boruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm Connections, a spot of Granblue Fantasy Relink, a smidgen of Dave the Diver and a soupçon of Street Fighter 6 as well.
Nic B was the first to drop in this week, and he’s been playing Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth for our final preview! In short he says, “It is great fun sinking back into the FF7 universe and seeing what’s new, what’s changed and OMG! There’s a new card game! This game seems like a lot of fun and I am very excited to sink my teeth into it further.”
Aran played through Crysis 2 Remastered and Crysis 3 Remastered this week, completing the trilogy. He enjoyed it too, saying, “I’d rank the series Crysis > Crysis 3 > Crysis 2. It was really fun for the most part and the bow in 3 is excellent.”
Miguel has been playing so much Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island, but you’ll have to wait a while to hear about that one. He’s also played plenty of Like A Dragon Gaiden and some Helldivers 2.
Having rounded out our Suicide Squad review, Gamoc modes on to play Assassin’s Creed Unity, telling us “I’m a mediocre assassin who slaughters countless guards in Notre Dame”, as well as the Skull and Bones beta, “Where I’m a mediocre pirate who mostly attacks ships until there’s suddenly too many and then flees”. He’s also playing more Baldur’s Gate 3, where he’s in the middle of an at least four-hour-long bit that he completely missed the first time around. Note the lack of the word mediocre in that one…
Steve has also been assassinating people, having finished AC Mirage and successfully rinsed his month of Ubisoft+. He’s had to get value for money after a costly GPU replacement, though used it as a good excuse to play more on his PC to stress test it and enjoy the new shininess it can offer. He’s also wrapped up Alisa for review, played some Next Fest horror demos and installed Suicide Squad ready for some mindless action in between bouts of undergrad marking. Finally he says, “I’ve also installed FFVII Intermission as I realised I never got around to it and it should bridge the gap before Rebirth at the end of the month.”
Nick P got the Platinum on Lies of P and “loved every second of it”. He then started his hard run on FFVII Remake as well as jumping on Helldivers 2. While having a cup of liber-tea, of course.
Tuffcub succinctly told me he’s played Destiny 2, Helldivers 2. Partick Thistle 1, Kilmarnock, 2. Which he then said is a joke only old people would get, and I
