What the Loki season premiere's post credits sequence could mean for the MCU

Early on in Martin Scorsese’s historical drama Killers of the Flower Moon, there’s a quiet moment between Ernest Burkhart (Leonardo DiCaprio) and the woman he will eventually marry, Osage heiress Molly (Lily Gladstone). The absorbing way Scorsese stages the drama makes it clear that this relationship will not end well, but the soundtrack is strangely twinkling, as if this were the start of a grand romance. Then the lyrics kicked in:

When Martin Scorsese, Leonardo DiCaprio, and screenwriter Eric Roth first set about adapting David Grann’s penetrating nonfiction book Killers of the Flower Moon, about the wholesale murder of the oil-rich Osage tribe in Oklahoma in the 1920s, the idea was that DiCaprio would play the hero. His original role: Tom White, a former Texas Ranger and investigator for the then-nascent FBI who brought some of those responsible to justice, including local cattle baron William King Hale and his nephew, Ernest Burkhart.

Martin Scorsese returns with a new movie for the first time since 2019's The Irishman with Killers of the Flower Moon. The film marks another collaboration between the director and actors Robert De Niro and Leonardo DiCaprio, who play a powerful Oklahoma rancher and his nephew, Ernest. Rounding out the cast is Lily Gladstone, who plays Ernest's Osage wife and whose family is the victim of a string of brutal murders.

Image Comics' creator-owned Killadelphia is about to embark on one of the most unlikely crossovers in comic book history (and there have been some doozies). Starting in November's Killadelphia #31, by series creators writer Rodney Barnes and artist Jason Shawn Alexander, the forces of Heaven and Hell will go to war in the streets of Philadelphia, with some well-known characters enlisted on both sides, including Image Comics icons Spawn and Savage Dragon, cult-classic movie monster Blacula, and, just for good measure, the classic literary icon Count Dracula too.

Just in time for the holidays, Whitethorn Games and Gameous have announced that Lake: Season’s Greetings will launch on November 15, 2023.
