'We would love to explore a new game mode,' says Remnant 2's creative director, which he'd like to 'scratch the same itch' as a wave-based survival gauntlet

Hit management game Factorio has finally added a feature that its developers held off on for years because they considered it "too hardcore."

New hands-on impressions and gameplay for RGG Studio’s Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth went live yesterday, showcasing almost everything players can do. From the Pokemon-esque Sujimon to the revamped Delivery Help Summons, there’s a lot to check out, courtesy of Famitsu and 4Gamer.

Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is one of the bigger releases this month and the first follow-up in the series since 2010’s Prince of Persia: The Forgotten Sands. Publications like Game Informer went hands-on with the title before launch, revealing nearly 20 minutes of action-packed gameplay. Check it out below.

Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio’s output in 2023 has been pretty impressive, with Like a Dragon: Ishin! andLike a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name garnering acclaim. Both titles made their way to Game Pass, the latter even launching on day one. However, the studio’s next mainline title, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, won’t be following suit.

Of the many megaton releases lined up for the first few months of 2024, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is one in particular that has been generated a great deal of excitement, and Capcom recently streamed a meaty chunk of new gameplay footage for the upcoming open world action RPG.

Bandai Namco has released the winter update for Ace Angler: Fishing Spirits, which adds the new game mode “Net Sniper.” A new event called “Shark Festival” will also begin in January 2024.

Along with announcing 13 million players for Starfield to date, Bethesda Game Studios revealed its post-launch plans for the title heading into 2024. It already confirmed “all-new ways” to travel and city maps, and starting in February, it will target updates roughly every six weeks. They will add new features and content with quality-of-life improvements.

Today Bethesda posted a recap of the year Starfield has had in the form of a few fun facts: in 2023 players visited a collective 1.9 billion planets, spent 26 million hours building ships, and ate more than 18 million battlemeal multipacks. (Weirdly, no sandwich tally was provided.)

In what looks like its last Starfield post for the year, Bethesda's committed to big changes for the RPG in 2024, revisiting promised quality-of-life features and doubling down on new gameplay options ahead of the RPG's first confirmed expansion, Shattered Space. 

My Remnant 2 character is dangerously close to joining the vast pantheon of characters I've left in limbo, just after completing the tutorial - a race of outcasts we might call the Abandonians, kicking their heels at campfires and savepoints, while I drift guiltily back to older games I've already completed several times over. It's not that I dislike Gunfire's sci-fantasy co-op shooter - the multiple-dimension premise is pleasantly loopy, and I like the variety of procgen landscapes. There just isn't enough time in the day, not when I'm replaying Into The Breach for the 14th time. Still, perhaps the introduction of a new mode built for quickfix, story-free sessions could persuade me to give 2023's 24th best game another whirl?

The Tekken 8 hype continues with Bandai Namco releasing a brand new character trailer, this time for Shaheen. As one of the newer fighters in the series, he debuted in Tekken 7 and wants to avenge his friend who died at the hands of G Corporation, headed by Kazuya Mishima. Check out his moves below.

Mouse, an upcoming classic first-person shooter sporting a vintage rubber hose animation style, turned heads in May with its first look at gameplay. Although that initial showing was very much a work in progress, today’s video offers a more polished look at what’s to come.
