It’s no secret that Hogwarts Legacy was a huge revenue earner for Warner Bros. last year after becoming the best-selling title in the United States and the UK. However, after it sold over 22 million copies in 2023, Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav recently told Variety that it crossed 24 million sales.
Warner Bros. Has Started Working on Games That Will be Canon to the DC Universe

WB Games hasn’t always made the best use of the DC licenses as it could have, but that certainly seems to be an area that the company wants to expand its efforts in. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is due out under a month from now, while a Wonder Woman game – which, according to Warner, is not going to be a live service experience – is also in development.
Beyond that, studios under WB Games have also started working on new DC projects that will be canon to the DC Universe of films and TV shows led by James Gunn and Peter Safran. The same was confirmed in a report published by Variety, with WB Games president David Haddad also speaking about the importance of using games as a way to keep audiences interested in and engaged with Warner and DC’s biggest properties.
“A very consistent message coming from the executive layer of Warner Bros. Discovery is the importance of franchises,” he said. “There’s a unique and important role games have in keeping our franchises relevant, resonant and exciting because there’s plenty of fans and plenty of people consuming content where games are their starting point, it’s their preferred form of content.”
What these games will turn out to be remains to be seen, but assuming that they’re all going to be in the very early stages of production right now, it’s safe to say it’s going to be quite some time before we start hearing about them in any capacity.
In the meantime, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is due out for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 2.
