Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 Reveals Gorgeous New Screenshots

Owlcat Games has released a new update for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader for PC and consoles. It fixes a “vast majority” of broken quests and cutscenes, which would block progression for players or only work when making specific choices. Several items and abilities that didn’t work have also been fixed, along with desync cases in co-op.

Buried within Games Workshop’s announcement that Henry Cavill's Warhammer 40,000 Cinematic Universe is "now properly rolling" is a tantalising tease that a Warhammer Fantasy Cinematic Universe could be next.

Around this time last year it was announced that Games Workshop had reached an "agreement in principle" with Amazon to bring the Warhammer 40,000 universe to the screen. That full agreement has now been finalised, Games Workshop say, meaning "the next stage can begin."

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 was supposed to be out by the end of 2023, but in November publisher Focus Home Interactive mashed the brakes hard, pushing it into the second half of 2024. We noted at the time that the vague launch window could mean a full year of extra waiting, but as it turns out, it's not quite that bad.

Third-person action game Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine II will launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam on September 9, 2024, publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Saber Interactive announced.
