Last year's RoboCop: Rogue City didn't appear on many Game of the Year lists, but plenty of people think it should have. The deliberately pulpy shooter, which manages to capture the tone of the original RoboCop movies rather well, has quickly become known as an underrated excursion — and it sounds like a big update it planned for the relatively near future.
«Many citizens have been asking about a New Game + for RoboCop: Rogue City. We've heard you,» says the game's official Twitter account. «So stay tuned for more information on this topic in the weeks to come. Until then: Stay out of trouble.»
Rogue City has a bunch of a RPG elements that would perfectly lend themselves to a New Game + mode, letting you carry over all of your character progress to a fresh playthrough. For example, you can level up RoboCop's various attributes in order to tackle certain missions in different ways, and weapons have a branching upgrade system.

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
This is interesting to me. Seen this said alot in various places. If you gave the game a 6 in your review, why do you think the game is underrated?
I don't get this narrative. The game got a generally favourable review from many sites reviewing it. It was also well received by people who played it. How exactly is this game underrated and why is it consistently referred to as such?
What it was is a game that wasn't much promoted and sold in average numbers. It was rated exactly as well as it deserved, around 7/10 on average, so why are we being told it should've got 8, 9 or 10?
@riceNpea I didn't review it, and I do think it's (slightly) underrated. That's pretty much it!
A VR mode would be cool.
I don’t think I’ll do a NG+ run. I absolutely loved the game and got the Platinum trophy as well, but I don’t need to revisit the game unless there is new content such as DLC. It’s a very underrated game, though! I hope more people will play it.
create a 3rd person view mode...
Had it for Christmas and was my first plat of 2024. Very enjoyable even if it started to look rushed towards the end. Nothing a patch wont fix. New game plus with a new difficulty and new gongs to go with it would be great
@ShogunRok Thanks for answering my question. May I ask in what way you think its underrated? In my opinion, averaging out its review scores would position it as a game that is well

Fans were surprised with the release of RoboCop: Rogue City. The game has grown a following, and while you might have finished the game already, the developers are giving you another reason to replay the game. If you’re itching to once again roam the streets of Detroit and take out the criminal scum, then check out the New Game Plus mode. Today, we’re finally getting that mode with developers explaining what you need to do before it triggers.
RoboCop: Rogue City just received a major update that adds New Game Plus as well as a new, harder difficulty.
RoboCop: Rogue City is likely the best game the action hero has ever starred in. That bar isn’t tough to hurdle, but the adventure delivers plenty of thrills for fans to be excited about. This narrative-driven first-person shooter has a loving reverence for the films and a good understanding of its protagonist, swinging for the fences with a lengthy original story, fun references, and plenty of enjoyably cheesy humor. Unfortunately, like the franchise’s vision of Detroit, Rogue City is very rough around the edges, resulting in a flawed hero but one that’s ultimately entertaining to patrol with.
Week’s done. Friday’s here. Time to chill, to rest, to reset and probably play some video games through the weekend, but What We Played is about what has gone before, not what’s coming up. I’ve been playing New Cycle, a bleak post-apocalyptic city builder, and I’ll have some thoughts on it next week. Besides that, I’ve been continuing my playthrough of TheWitcher 3 on Steam Deck, VR’ed my way further into Asgard’s Wrath 2, threw some punches in a spot of Street Fighter 6, and got in a hefty dose of Monster Hunter Rise that I’ve seen fit to restart from the beginning.
