Under Night In-Birth 2 Will Add to the Already Insane January Release Window on PS5, PS4 | Push Square

Bandai Namco has tapped into the hype surrounding the second season of Spy X Family, releasing the first full gameplay trailer for its upcoming PS5 and PS4 adaptation, Spy x Anya: Operation Memories. The game has Boku No Natsuyasumi vibes to it, as you’ll be accompanying the eponymous pink-haired heroine on holiday with her adopted family, and engaging in various minigames.

Persona 5 Tactica takes the mainline Persona 5 combat and turns it on its head, eschewing the stylish yet traditional JRPG format for crunchier SRPG fare. Thankfully, the adorable Sergeant Morgana has put together a series of instructional videos so that you can get up to speed as quickly as possible once Tactica launches on PS5 and PS4 next month, on 17th November. Sony’s unexpected, last gasp announcements are continuing in earnest today, with confirmation that the previously announced PS5 cloud streaming is coming as a PS Plus Premium perk later this month. Depending on your region, you’ll be able to enjoy “supported” titles from the platform holder’s top streaming tier without needing to download them as soon as next week – and the functionality will extend to Game Trials, so you’ll be able to test out the time-limited demos effectively on-demand.

Infinity Strash: Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai is a game of two halves: a surprisingly simplistic action RPG and an endless barrage of static, visual novel-style cutscenes. It bears the name Dragon Quest and is published by Square Enix, yet it feels entirely barebones; with basic gameplay and a poorly presented story, we're left confused about who this one was for.

Inescapable: No Rules, No Rescue is a murder-themed visual novel in the style of Danganronpa, with anime teens forced to participate as contestants in a twisted reality TV show. We now have a release date, so try not to get voted off the island when Inescapable launches on PS5 and PS4 on 19th October.

Regular readers will know, perhaps rather unusually, I love trains. I’ve been covering Train Sim World in intimate detail for years now, much to developer Dovetail’s pleasure. (I will get around to reviewing Train Sim World 4 by the way, it’s just the schedule’s been brutal for me this past month. Also, maybe the studio would like to slow down just a touch with the sequels and expansions so I can catch up?)

Update: Sony says the reason the Knights of the Old Republic trailers are being removed from its YouTube and social media accounts is due to music licenses expiring. In a statement to IGN, the organisation said: “As part of normal business, we delist assets with licensed music when the licenses expire.”

Tokyo Game Show is happening right now, and in case you missed it, Sony is celebrating with a new sale on the PS Store. As you'd expect, the offer comprises almost exclusively games made in Japan, though there are one or two outliers. Anyway, there are a lot of fantastic titles included here for both PS5 and PS4.

Megaton Musashi: Wired is an updated version of Megaton Musashi, a mecha action RPG released in Japan on PS5 and PS4, developed by LEVEL-5. Wired will be the first opportunity for overseas markets to get their hands on the title, which comes with additional content. We got a new trailer showing off some explosive, mechanized action.

In sad news for stealth fans, it seems like Snake's inaugural mission through Shadow Moses will move slower than expected. Publisher Konami has revealed that Metal Gear Solid, alone amongst the treasured trilogy bundled in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, will remain locked at 30 frames-per-second.

If you've been dying to see more of Dragon's Dogma 2 after Capcom's official gameplay presentation, you're in luck — a lot of luck. There's now uncut gameplay footage coming out of Tokyo Game Show, with Japanese publications V Jump and IGN Japan each posting ten-minute captures of the action RPG running on PS5.

No one really talks about Bandai Namco, but the publisher’s doing a bang-up job. Last year it released Elden Ring, which not only proved a critical darling but also a break-out commercial hit. The action RPG ended up becoming a cultural touchstone for 2022, and it helped underline a really impressive run for the Pac-Man maker.
