Nintendo has confirmed it will announce its next-generation console during its current fiscal year, ending March 2025.

An incredibly rare Nintendo DS is being auctioned off, and it could sell for over £15,000. The Nintendo DS was first released in 2004 as the successor to the Nintendo Game Boy Advance and evolved the Big N's classic handheld formula by including a second touchscreen that players could use for hit titles like The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks and Pokemon Black and White. While it was eventually phased out in favor of the upgraded Nintendo 3DS in 2011, the original Nintendo DS remains one of gaming’s most well-remembered portable systems, with several of its past exclusives being released on current hardware to this day.

Lego has announced two new Lego Animal Crossing sets.

The classic survival horror game Dementium: The Ward is finally coming to non-portable consoles and will be released on PS4 and PS5 on April 19. Developed by Renegade Kid, Dementium: The Ward originally released on the Nintendo DS in 2007 and received a 3DS port in 2015. While the game received overall mixed reviews when it first launched, it has gained somewhat of a cult following and is now considered by many to have been generally underrated.

Ben Starr, the voice actor of Final Fantasy 16's Clive Rosfield, has joined fans in calling for a brand-new entry in the Final Fantasy Tactics spin-off subseries. The first Final Fantasy Tactics game was first released in 1997 for the PS1 as a tactical RPG spin-off to the mainline games. The original game got plenty of critical acclaim and would become one of the franchise's most well-regarded spin-offs, which eventually created a mini-franchise. An incredibly rare McDonalds-branded Nintendo DSi and software cartridge recently appeared and later disappeared from an online auction website. The Nintendo DS had a number of different variants throughout the handheld hardware's lifespan. Sometimes I miss the unique charms of the Nintendo DS and 3DS handhelds. They were weird. I liked the wonky touch controls, and some games featured weird gimmicks with the built-in mic and cameras. Now the family of handhelds has newfound relevance; people are using the cameras on the Nintendo DSi, Nintendo 3DS, and other DS consoles to take photos and videos. As it turns out, the cameras are the perfect way to nostalgically capture the low-fidelity look of the 2010s.
