Top Spin 2K25 Announced with Teaser Trailer; Coming ‘Soon’

Sam Barlow, known for his work on experimental video games like Her Story, Telling Lies, and more recently Immortality, has announced that he is working on two new games. Currently titled Project C and Project D, both games are going to be distinctly different from each other, with one title being similar to Barlow’s more recent work, while the other would be more reminiscent of older titles that Barlow has worked on like Silent Hill: Shattered Memories.

If you’re a fan of WWE, then get ready for a new installment of the WWE 2K franchise. Today, we got the reveal of WWE 2K24 and some details about what to expect and who is featured on the covers for the editions being released. For starters, the focus of this installment is the history of WrestleMania. Past installments typically focus on a particular wrestler’s career and their highlights during a run in the WWE. However, it seems like we have a timespan of forty years to focus on as we take a look at some of the iconic moments of WrestleMania. 

The latest installment of theWWE 2K series, WWE 2K24, has been officially unveiled in a new trailer, and fans can look forward to the return of fan-favorite features as well as some sparkly new ones.

Top Spin, the beloved tennis video game franchise that has not seen a release in over a decade, is getting a revival. Publisher 2K revealed Tuesday that TopSpin 2K25 will arrive soon, pairing the announcement with a teaser trailer. The development also comes in the heels of the ongoing Australian Open, capitalising on the tennis fever the first Grand Slam of the year brings with it. TopSpin 2K25 will be helmed by Hangar 13, the 2K-owned studio behind the recent Mafia games. 2K have not specified a release date or a window, with the game slated to be “coming soon.” With the 2K25 moniker, however, one can expect a release sometime later this year, as is the norm with other 2K sports game franchises.

Aside from the trailer there are no further details regarding TopSpin 2K25, including no platforms or release date. It would be expected to be released for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S at the least. Whether 2K chooses to bring the game to PS4 and Xbox One will remain to be seen.

Mintrocket, the studio behind Dave the Diver and the upcoming zombie survival game Nakwon: Last Paradise, has announced the name of its mysterious sci-fi team battle game, previously known as Project TB.

Leaks have claimed for a couple of years that a new Top Spin game is in development at Hangar 13, the studio that developed Mafia 3. That has now been officially confirmed by 2K Games in the form of TopSpin 2K25, the tennis series’ first instalment in over a decade.

It did so with a quick teaser trailer revealing that it's «coming soon.» Its announcement coincides with 2024's first Grand Slam tennis tournament, the Australian Open, which began Saturday, January 13. 

Publisher 2K and developer Hangar 13 have announced TopSpin 2K25. Platforms were not announced, but PlayStation Store and Microsoft Store pages are live, confirming PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One versions.
