The new Into the Light armor for Destiny 2 appears to be a callback to the original Destiny, with many avid fans pointing toward the earliest armor sets designed for the franchise. Destiny 2 Into the Light will feature new armor, weapons, and activities as Bungie and fans prepare for the launch of The Final Shape, the expansion that marks the conclusion of the Light and Darkness saga.
The Into the Light update will launch on April 9 with new content for all Destiny 2 players, sandbox changes, and other quality-of-life adjustments. Before the launch, Bungie will host livestreams on March 19, March 26, and April 2 to reveal the new content that will soon arrive in Into the Light. Fans watching on Twitch may earn rewards for watching any of the three livestreams, including the Those Held Dear and Echo Diamond emblems. Reddit user ashtril recently noticed that the Destiny 2 Into the Light armor is actually an updated version of the first Guardian class armor sets from the original Destiny game. Ashtril posted two images to compare the armor sets and highlight some of the differences between the old armor and the new Into the Light armor, which features some glow accents and a lighter color palette. The new armor appears to have a more sleek design, while the old armor is more bulky with its armor plating.
Overall, reception from the community appears to be very positive towards the armor, since many fans are excited and reminiscing about the humble beginnings of Destiny. Bungie has not revealed how the new armor may be acquired yet, but it will likely be available in the Into the Light content's loot pool, similar to past seasonal armor in Destiny 2. In addition, the upcoming livestreams should bring the answers to questions that fans may have about the new Into the Light content.
If recent Destiny 2 Into the Light leaks are true, players will be able to earn past Pinnacle weapons like the Recluse SMG and Hammerhead machine gun after the new update arrives.
