Nexon’s The First Descendant was one of several games to take the stage at Gamescom Opening Night Live, with a new trailer showcased for the upcoming free-to-play looter shooter action RPG.
Starting with setup for the game’s setting and what its story will revolve around, the trailer also shows plenty of glimpses of gameplay itself, showing off some of The First Descendant’s combat with a number of playable characters, including the recently-revealed Bunny. Meanwhile, the trailer also briefly shows the game’s traversal mechanics, a variety of environments, and more.
A cross-platform multiplayer open beta for the looter shooter action RPG will also be kicking off a little under a month from now. As previously announced, it will run from September 19 to 25.
The First Descendant is set to launch in full sometime this Fall for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC. A more specific release date has yet to be announced.

While Earth is abandoned in the far future of Starfield, it isn’t exactly empty. There are still several manmade landmarks to find on Earth, Luna and Mars — and there’s a snow globe at each one to remember them by. Snow globes are Easter egg collectibles that return from Bethesda’s previously published Fallout: New Vegas, a game that Starfield actually shares a surprising connection with. Both games use (most of) the same PC console commands. In addition to cheats, you’ll also want to check out these hidden locations. By reading rare books or checking uncommon plaques, you’ll be able to unlock landmarks that take you straight to these lost bits of human history. Here’s how it all works — and how to appreciate the ancient past. Yes, you can find the ruins of the Pyramids!

You can catch glimpses of different playable characters, their loadouts, and their unique abilities, as well as huge boss enemies that'll require teamwork to bring down efficiently.

Fans of horror games have been treated to a glut of great new games recently, with plenty more on the horizon. Hekate and Nacon’s Ad Infinitum might not be the most large-scale upcoming release in that group, but it’s certainly one that has turned a few heads since its announcement a couple of years ago, and with its launch right around the corner, Nacon has released another new trailer for it.
What’s it like to be trapped in a hell of your own making? For writer Alan Wake, that’s the story he’s trying to tell. And after watching a full 40-minute demo, played from the perspective of Wake himself, it certainly looks set to be a tale worth telling. Taking place in an area called The Dark Place, this lengthy slice of the story follows Alan as he makes his way through an oppressive and haunting replica of New York City riddled with danger, gunfights, and puzzles. It’s classic survival horror but with the distinct edge of developer Remedy - smart, engrossing, and consistently odd.

Interdimensional aliens have invaded with murderous intent. Humans are an endangered species. Our world is in ruins. That’s the setup in The First Descendant’s newest trailer, and yet, all I want to do is zip around with grappling hooks while wearing the most fashionable cyber-bunny exosuit available. Thankfully the Gamescom trailer has that on display, too. Ta!
