Marvel's Spider-Man 2 Times Square comparison shows just how much has changed since the first game

The fact of the matter is that people want to be playing Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 right now instead of having to wait several weeks for it. Granted, the game has gone gold, and people are happy that it won’t be delayed again, so there is that. But while the wait is shorter, it’s not short enough. As such, people are starting to look for any pieces of information that can help them satiate their desire for their title. It won’t be enough, but it’ll do for now. For example, on Twitter, someone was able to find out the start screens for the game, and they paint two very different pictures.

It's vibrant, the sky brighter, with far more trees transforming the grey wasteland into a green oasis. But fans aren't fussed about NYC, they're all about Peter Parker's dumptruck.

One of the first titles of writer Jonathan Hickman's new Ultimate Universe has been announced, and it's the same one that started the original Ultimate Marvel line way back when: Ultimate Spider-Man.

With a month to go until launch, developers Insomniac Games have announced that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, the long-awaited sequel to the 2018 superhero hit, has officially gone gold and completed development, meaning it’s on track for its release next month, and fans can officially get hyped for its release.

Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is one of the biggest games left in 2023 that fans are dying to get their hands on. The title has been getting lots of information and trailers lately, and Insomniac Games isn’t afraid to “spill some tea” on what you might be able to see and do as you swing around the city. As gamers found out earlier this year, when you’re in the open-world setting of New York, you’ll have the option to swap between Peter Parker and Miles Morales. That’s important because not only is this game about both characters but there are tasks and missions specifically assigned to them.

It’s been confirmed that no matter who you play as in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, you’ll still be able to see the other Spider-Man out and about in New York, stopping crime.

Spider-Man 2 will allow you to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales when it launches next month, even allowing you to switch between the two web-slingers with just the push of a single button. While it was never confirmed what the other Spider-Man is actually doing when you're not in control of them, most of us assumed that the other would simply vanish into the ether, prepared to leap into action at a moment's notice whenever the player feels like switching again.

This is a franchise that shifts hardware, and after a year slightly lighter on PlayStation Studios content than usual, the title is a beaming light at the end of the tunnel. A portion of sales is already guaranteed based on the name alone, but the rest will flock when its quality is realised. Marvel's Spider-Man 2 is a sequel that builds on past entries in all the right ways: safe but supremely solid in some and excitingly daring in others. While just a taste was on display at a recent preview event, it exhibited why the joint adventure of Peter Parker and Miles Morales is yet another Game of the Year contender.

The highly anticipated sequel seems to have much more for players to enjoy, from a New York map that's almost doubled in size with the inclusion of Queens and Brooklyn to the ability to play as both Peter Parker and Miles Morales, swapping between them instantly across the open world and optimizing a variety of gadgets and special abilities across both heroes.

Last week further cemented the hype around Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, as a duo of trailers brought forth information about the 65 suits you’ll be able to put onto Peter Parker or Miles Morales as they attempt to save the city, the digital deluxe exclusives you can get, and the massive amount of stuff to do in New York City. However, that wasn’t the only piece of information that fans got. A demo went around for certain people; through this, more insight was brought about the Symbiote Suit and the “catalyst” villain for the game, Kraven The Hunter.
