Embark Studios releases update 2.2.0 for The Finals, adding a special variant game mode of Power Shift called Bunny Bash, balancing a variety of weapons, while also fixing many remaining bugs. Following the massive changes from the Season 2 update for The Finals, Embark has continued to release new updates on nearly a weekly basis for the online shooter.
In fact, while The Finals embraces that live service model of being free to play with optional cosmetic items for sale, the shooter has also utilized many of the holidays that have come and gone since the game's launch during The Game Awards last December. Fans have been able to partake in a winter-themed map with snowmen littered around the battlegrounds, while in early February, a Valentine's Day event gave fans a chance to earn unique cosmetic items for completing challenges in the LTM Steal the Spotlight mode. Completing those will earn players new rewards, including Easter-themed cosmetic outfits, accessories, and weapon skins.
Alongside Bunny Bash, Embark has confirmed that Bank It will remain available in game due to the overwhelmingly positive feedback from the community and Cashout game mode is coming to causal game modes to replace unranked tournaments for the time being. For PC players, display names will be utilizing Embark ID soon to help make connecting with others much easier as well as to ensure what is being displayed is of «better quality.»
The update also provides a large number of bug fixes to all aspects of the game, from UI and Map issues, to even increasing XP gains for finishing Daily Quests from 500 to 1000. Numerous weapons have also been tweaked with this update with Season 2's addition of the heavy slug KS23 Shotgun features the longest list of changes including a fire rate increase and damage decrease to name a few. The FCAR, FAMAS, 93R, Glitch Trap, and Glitch Grenade have also seen a few updates in this patch as well.
One aspect that wasn't touched in this latest update is the Private Matches option. Originally introduced inside the Season 2 launch, Embark has been adding new features to Private Matches slowly over time. The developer has indicated that the process would be on the slower side, promising more robust features and settings to
