The Elder Scrolls Online's New Chapter Finally Addresses Jungle Cyrodiil

The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road is taking us back to Cyrodiil again, specifically Skingrad in the West Weald. What's interesting about this return is that it finally addresses a decade-old controversy - the infamous missing jungle.
In-game texts tell us that, prior to Tiber Septim, Cyrodiil was a lush jungle. But in The Elder Scrolls Online, it's no different than Oblivion - sweeping plains, with a few forests dotted about. Certainly not the image that the books paint. The popular headcanon is that when Tiber Septim terraformed the land, he not only changed Cyrodiil in the present, but across time.
Gold Road, however, will finally give Cyrodiil its jungle as one appeared overnight, coating a third of the West Weald, bleeding in from Valenwood.
This was caused by a group of wood elves working with a faction known as the Recollection. They're a new organisation in Elder Scrolls, so we don't know anything about them yet, or why they'd want to cover Cyrodiil in a jungle, but we'll find out soon enough when Gold Road launches on June 3 for PC and June 18 for consoles.
It's unclear what will happen to the new jungle. Perhaps we'll undo the magic and restore the West Weald to its former self, or maybe it'll stay until Tiber Septim wipes it out, tidying up a little continuity error for the game's tenth anniversary.
Aside from a jungle, the zone will feature one hub city (Skingrad), 11 objectives, six delves, six world bosses, two public dungeons, one trial, a new world event, and dailies. ZeniMax says that it has around 30 hours of content, but there will be no companions at launch. Rather than arriving with the chapter as has become the norm, they will now arrive in late 2024.

While we don't know much about the Recollection, we do know that they're searching for the recently escaped Daedric Prince, Ithelia. All knowledge of her was erased by Hermaeus Mora with support from the rest of the pantheon, but we discovered her existence at the end of Necrom, sparking the catalyst for her return. She's wandering the West Weald, unsure of who she is, drawn to magical artefacts that are unlocking her past.
The Recollection, for whatever reason, wants to find Ithelia and restore her power. How that ties into the jungle is a mystery laden with spoilers that ZeniMax is keeping close to its chest.
