Bethesda has revealed the next big yearly expansion for The Elder Scrolls Online, with The Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Road launching on 3rd June for PC and Mac, and then 18th June across Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Xbox One and Playstation 4.
While this expansion title might sound like TESO is heading to a Dickensian version of London, Gold Road will actually take players to West Weald – a region that borders Cyrodiil, the Gold Coast, and Valenwood – and the city of Skingrad, which was first seen in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion.
Whether you stick with an existing character or roll a new one to play Gold Road as a standalone adventure, the new narrative arc will see you investigating the appearance of Ithelia, a new Daedric Prince that has never previously been seen in the Elder Scrolls series. Along the way you’ll run into Wood Elves, as their forests have suddenly consumed around a third of the region, encroaching onto the realm ruled by the Colovian Count Calantius, an independent nation allied to the Imperial forces of nearby Cyrodiil.
Helping you to defeat the new dangers that await you will and peel back the mysteries be a new Scribing system, which allows you to create your own custom skills and use magic in new ways by editing primary, seondary and tertiary effects.
Building up to the Gold Road chapter, ESO’s content roadmap for the first half of 2024 includes the next dungeon DLC, Scions of Ithelia. This adds two and four-player dungeons called Oathsword Pit and Bedlam Veil, with the events found in these dungeons leading toward the upcoming chapter as you enact revenge for the God of Curses in one and defend the hold of the Demiprince of Maelstrom in the other.
The Scions of Ithelia dungeon DLC pack arrives on 11th March for PC/Mac and 26th March for Xbox and PlayStation.
