Update — Publisher Mytona has posted an update on The Day Before situation, pledging to work with Steam to open up refunds to any players who choose to do so.
The original story follows:
The Day Before saga has reached its seemingly inevitable conclusion, with developer Fntastic closing up shop just days after releasing the atrocious game into Steam's Early Access program. Sadly, this means the promised PS5 version will now likely never materialise.
Fntastic put out a brazen statement announcing the game's (and thus the studio's) immediate financial failure and that any money made would, unfortunately, be needed to pay off debts owed to the developer's partners. No funding means no patches, and Fntastic ends with the following: «We apologise if we didn't meet your expectations. We did everything within our power, but unfortunately, we miscalculated our capabilities. Creating games is an incredibly challenging endeavour.»
If that wasn't incriminating enough, the company's CEO, Eduard Gotovtsev, has coincidentally obliterated his online presence, dropping a digital smoke bomb and receding into the shadows. Second Wind's Nick Calandra has been covering the action in real-time, and we are beginning to suspect this company might not have been on the up-and-up after all.
Fans and even developers were quick to mock the entire affair, with the social team behind DayZ being especially quick off the mark. The Rust team also got in on the action, in what is likely just the tip of the meme iceberg.

Seriously tho with all these unfinished products from the likes of gamemill and scams like this there needs to be some laws implemented. Or if they exist, acted on
The question I have is...did they even run off with that much money? Like was all of this worth it in the end?
@Bentleyma haha! I was thinking the exact same thing!
