Bandai Namco has released the opening movie for the soon-to-be-released fighting game sequel Tekken 8, as well as revealing the first DLC character for the game. Tekken 8 will be coming out on 26th January 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
There’s a lot of slow walking and meaningful looks to start off the Tekken 8 intro video, as it runs through the bulk of the roster in the game at launch, who eventually get to start showing off their flashy fighting moves. When it gets to the full-scale war scenes, it starts to look a little bit daft, to my mind, as characters in frilly and colourful outfits fight in a crowd of generic soldier dudes.
The video then finishes with a look at the first DLC character for Tekken 8, teasing with some behind the scenes animation looks and cinematic previews. Coming in Season 1 this spring, and keeping a passionate heart and a cool head, is Eddy Gordo!
But that’s not all that Bandai Namco revealed this weekend. They also released two more character reveal and gameplay trailers!
First was Alisa Bosconovitch, the Destroying Automaton.
And then there was Zafina, the Mystic Stargazer.
