Tekken 8 is Off to a Strong Start on Steam

It might not seem like it, but Tekken 8 has been out for a few weeks now, and gamers have been talking about it and showing it off ever since its arrival. You’ve likely seen memes of the various characters in numerous outfits to “imitate” certain classic characters from other franchises. It’s all rather hilarious. Tekken 8 has been a smash hit among gamers, at least according to a recently released financial report from Bandai Namco. Tekken 8’s storypicks up where 2015’s Tekken 7 left off, with Jin Kazama fully recovered from the events of past entries and ready to challenge his father Kazuya Mishima to determine the fate of the world. Gameplay-wise, Tekken 8 introduces new concepts like the Heat System and Tornado Hits, which help give matches a more “aggressive” feel than those of its predecessors. There are also different gameplay modes like the new Arcade Quest and the returning Tekken Ball to keep players coming back for more.

2024 has already had a number of major releases, and in that list, Tekken 8 has turned out to be among the most successful. Some of the characters that were introduced in Tekken 7 have returned for the eighth mainline entry, which include the Wing Chun practitioner Leroy Smith, the exorcist Claudio Serafino, and the Saudi Arabian fighter Shaheen.

Bandai Namco has revealed the worldwide release timings for Tekken 8, which is available to pre-load today, January 24th, from 3 PM PST onwards. The eagerly awaited fighter goes live on January 25th, 3 PM PT, with other parts of the world getting it as late as January 26th, noon NZDT.
