Suicide Squad's Deluxe Edition Is Currently Cheaper Than Its Standard $70 Version on PS5

Rocksteady reveals the full Season 1 patch notes for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, along with a look at all of the new weapons, maps, activities, and other content launching on March 28. It's been a fairly tough road for the game following it's launch in early February. Warner Bros has previously confirmed that Suicide Squad: KIll the Justice League has failed to live up to sales expectations, leaving most to wonder how and even if Rocksteady can turn the game around.

Rocksteady has explained how Joker, the first DLC character for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, will work when it's made available with the launch of Season 1 on March 28.

This will bring the game down to just £50.36 (see here) on PS5, and £49.36 on Xbox, and a huge saving of around £20 when compared to buying the game digitally at £69.99.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is currently down to just $35.69 at Green Man Gaming (£30.59 in the UK), which is a significant 49% off from its MSRP of $69.99. The Deluxe Edition also dropped to $45.89 (was $89.99). Those are big savings and well worth considering if you want to experience the controversy of killing the Justice League yourself.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League finally launched last month, and it’s fair to say that it hasn’t got off to a great start. It was met with mixed reception (at best) from critics and audiences and has failed to attract a sizeable player base, with publisher WB Games recently saying that it had fallen short of commercial expectations.

Entertainment giant Warner Bros is still planning on focusing on live-service titles in spite of a lacklustre reception to Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League.

Warner Bros. Games remains undeterred by the sub-par critical and commercial performance of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League and plans to further lean into the live service model for its games going forward. J.B. Perrette, CEO and President, Global Streaming and Games at Warner Bros. Discovery, laid out the company's games strategy at a recent Morgan Stanley speaking event, reiterating the studio's intentions to invest more in 'games as a service' model, free-to-play games and mobile titles, and expressing doubts about the “volatile” business of bespoke triple-A games on consoles.

Rocksteady has confirmed that Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Season 1 will get started on 28th March, bringing The Joker into the game as a playable character. Meanwhile, the Epic Games Store version of the game has been delayed again, now coming out on 26th March.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League did not meet publisher Warner Bros' expectations — that much is abundantly clear. The live service shooter appeared to do okay at launch, but concerningly low player counts and an almost immediate, sharp decline in sales set the tone. Warner Bros piped up not long after, stating that Suicide Squad had simply «fallen short» of its projections.

Warner Bros. Games wants to further invest in live service even after Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League failed to impress.

Warner Bros has said it plans to focus on free-to-play and live-service games going forward, despite premium, standalone, single-player RPG Hogwarts Legacy being the best-selling game of 2023.
