We haven’t heard a peep out of Rocksteady Studios and WB Games about Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League since the game was delayed by nearly a year into February 2024, and questions about what shape the title is in have become increasingly louder, especially as its launch draws closer. Not long from now, however, we’ll be getting out first update on it in several months.
Rocksteady has confirmed that it’s kickstarting a new video series titled Suicide Squad Insider to reveal new details on the game in the lead-up to its launch. The first episode – which will premiere this Wednesday, November 15, at 10 AM PT – will focus on the game’s story and gameplay.
We last saw Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League when Rocksteady and WB Games showcased an extensive gameplay showing as part of a State of Play presentation in February. The showing provoked widespread backlash from fans, with the majority of criticism being directed at the game’s live service nature and its looter shooter trappings.
In the aftermath of the aforementioned backlash, Suicide Squad was delayed out of May 2023 into early 2024. Leaks have claimed that one of the reasons for delaying the game was to remove its always-online requirement, and that the core game mechanics are not being changed.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is set to launch on February 2, 2024 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Will the Suicide Squad ever win over the hearts of the masses? The DC comic book team jumped to the big screen in 2016 with David Ayer’s lambasted Suicide Squad, which made for a better trailer than movie. Birds of Prey tried to give Margot Robbie her own moment, but that bombed. James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy touch was supposed to redeem the villains with 2021’s The Suicide Squad, but the half-reboot, dropped in theaters and HBO Max on the same date, didn’t exactly pop. Max’s Peacemaker and Harley Quinn animated series have found success in a sitcom-ier mode, but it’s hard to call either a true Suicide Squad vehicle. Pray for Rocksteady Studios’ Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which looks like fun… despite a number of delays.

The title takes place in the same universe as Rocksteady Games' titles, and instead of the team being inmates at the Belle Reve super prison, Waller recruits them from Arkham Asylum.
