Some recent reports from Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League players suggest that Rocksteady Studios' latest title already has a cheater problem. Although the game itself doesn't feature a PvP mode, many fans have still denounced hackers as being detrimental to their enjoyment of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.
Rocksteady's live service shooter was released for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 2, following a four-day early access period. Although Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League received mixed reviews at launch—with its Metacritic aggregate scores ranging between 60 and 64, depending on the platform—many of its early adopters have been enjoying the game. That trend is evident in the fact that its Steam version currently boasts a two-to-one ratio of positive to negative reviews, based on over 6,000 ratings.
But some of those players are now saying that the game has developed a major problem with hackers. «Leaderboards are all cheaters,» wrote one Steam user on February 18, advising fans who want to confirm that for themselves to open the current rankings and check the talents screen of any high-positioned player. Similar reports have emerged on social media in recent days. «Hackers already infiltrated the game,» said Reddit user Hazzydiditagain on February 13, adding that the leaderboards are presently full of players with «physically impossible» DPS.
Most of the newly emerged complaints about cheaters appear to be unrelated to the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Burn bug that allowed players to abuse the broken damage scaling of this status effect to quickly rise through Mastery Levels. Rocksteady has already addressed that particular issue and split the seasonal leaderboards into pre- and post-burn nerf rankings.
Yet the new leaderboards have once again filled up with players whose characters seem suspiciously overpowered, boasting DPS scores north of a billion, as soon as the latest Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League update rolled out. Game Rant discovered a number of trainers that are already circulating online, promising to beat the shooter's Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) system and allow cheaters to accomplish things like set their XP multipliers, eliminate ability cooldowns, and conjure up unlimited resources such as Coluan Crystals and Precious Alloys. At the same time, some Steam users have been complaining that the game is falsely accusing them of cheating whenever they enter a session with their console-owning friends.
Although cheating is inherently less damaging to a PvE game than a PvP one, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has already been struggling to maintain player interest even before the emergence of this problematic trend. Rocksteady will hence
