One inventive player has recently devised a way to drive a bridge in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. Their engineering ingenuity later made the rounds online, illustrating the never-ending creativity of the Tears of the Kingdom fandom.
The ability to create structures and vehicles has long been advertised as one of the key selling points of the latest Zelda game. And although Tears of the Kingdom's Ultrahand ability can indeed be used with pretty much anything that's not nailed to the ground (and even some objects that are), the building materials that are available to Link at any given time don't normally include bridge parts.
Reddit user Bunyan_24 did manage to discover one notable exception to this rule, having realized that the broken stone bridge pieces near Zelda's study in Tears of the Kingdom can be manipulated with Ultrahand. Armed with that knowledge and some engineering chops, the player first reassembled what was left of the bridge, and then transformed the resulting structure into a vehicle.
Although Bunyan_24 described the contraption as a «car,» it is much more akin to a tank, with the sheer size of its giant stone body allowing it to tower over the ground. Turning this design into an actual piece of mobile artillery would be challenging, but not impossible, as the unusual-looking «bridge car» consists of 19 pieces in total. Meaning the vehicle could incorporate two more components—e.g., a turret and auto-aiming Construct Head—before it starts falling apart, as is the case with all Tears of the Kingdom Ultrahand creations.
Reflecting on their imposing machine, Bunyan_24 explained that they had decided to put together a drivable bridge because they were «bored.» And while this may be the first attempt at driving a bridge that the game's fandom has shared to date, the fact that the stone pieces near Zelda's Study interact with Ultrahand has already been known to some players. In fact, Ultrahand is not the only one of Link's powers that can be used to manipulate them, as one player had already demonstrated back in July by repairing the very same bridge using Tears of the Kingdom's Recall power.
Aside from engaging in building shenanigans, Zelda's Study is also worth visiting for other reasons; some high-damage Royal Guard equipment spawns in the room following every Blood Moon, while the tower in which it's located is also the ideal spot for reaching the Hyrule Castle Sanctum entrance. From there, players are able to grab the Tears of the Kingdom version of the Twilight Princess bow, one of the most useful ranged weapons in the entire game, and plenty of other valuable loot.

The Ultrahand ability caused a lot of problems for the development team of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, according to one team member at GDC 2024. Through several tweaks and adjustments in development, the team at Nintendo was able to make Ultrahand one of the most useful abilities of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
A Figma of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom's Link is now available for pre-order. Link has been featured in the Japanese line of action figures in the past, with a Figma of him from The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword being released in 2022.
Nintendo potentially brought the curtain down on its amiibo era last month by releasing its Sora amiibo. The addition of the Kingdom Hearts hero to its Smash Ultimate collection means every fighter in the game now has their own amiibo. For figures released alongside a new game, you have to go back even further. Zelda and Ganondorf's Tears of the Kingdom amiibo were released last year, and after selling out fast wherever they pop up, the figures are back in stock at Best Buy.
One The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has taken advantage of shrine items and Zonai devices to build a vehicle inspired by sharks. Zonai devices are one of the newest additions to Tears of the Kingdom, alongside the Ultrahand ability that manipulates objects. These curious items are great for creating functional vehicles players can use to explore Hyrule.
The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom has been home to plenty of strange and helpful fan creations, and one player is showing off their unique machine that helps Link clear enemies off the bridges of Hyrule. Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most successful Zelda entries of all time in terms of sales and critical acclaim, and part of that stems from the way it builds off the open-world framework of 2017’s Breath of the Wild with a surprisingly in-depth crafting mechanic that lets players build virtually anything they can imagine.
One creative The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has constructed a mechanical version of the King Gleeok boss within the game. The creation was shared with the community of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, garnering praise and awe for the way in which they managed to come up with such a complex construction.
In The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you might encounter the Gloom-Borne Illness quest, which requires you to find Wild Greens. However, there isn’t actually an item called “Wild Greens,” making this quest particularly tricky to complete. In this guide, we’ll show you where to find Wild Greens in Tears of the Kingdom.
For as open and freeform as The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is, even allowing you to skip essentially every quest in the game and go straight to the final boss, you will be missing a ton by doing so. At the very least, most players will want to complete all the main quests before marching into the final encounter, which will take many hours. One quest is taking some adventurers a long time to complete, not due to its difficulty, but because they have no idea how to complete it.
It might take place in the same Hyrule as Breath of the Wild, but Tears of the Kingdom‘s landscape is radically different from its predecessor. Along with massive floating islands in the sky, there’s a sprawling underworld to explore that’s filled with secrets to discover and abilities to unlock. One such secret is Poes, which take a very different form than in past Zelda games — instead of serving as an enemy, they’re now an alternate form of currency.
One imaginative Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player has combined rails and shrine items to build a very fast jet from scratch. Over the past months, Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom players have built numerous contraptions inspired by real-life vehicles. For instance, one spent hours painstakingly replicating military helicopters, while another crafted the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air from Zonai devices.
A new version of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom Optimizer mod was released online a few days ago, improving the game's emulation with the smoothest dynamic FPS to date, proper resolution scaling up to 8K resolution, and much more.
