Starfield: First Contact Quest Walkthrough (& Every Outcome)

Last time we were messing around with Ryujin, we infiltrated Celt Corp, planted a bug, and dipped before anyone found out. In this next exciting episode (mission) in Starfield, you are taking to the stars, heading to Akila, and slipping some damning evidence in a locker just before an audit. It’s all go in the word of corporate espionage. 

After joining Ryujin Industries in Starfield, you have been tasked with infiltrating a competing company, Celt Corp, and making sure they don’t do anything sneaky. Imogene wants you to get in, plant a bug, and get out. No fuss. No mess. Remember, if things go wrong, you are the one who has to bail yourself out and pay for cleanup. 

Navigation in 's Starmap can be frustrating. Even for those who have invested hundreds of hours into the game, the base game for lacks proper labeling, which can make space navigation difficult. While astrological accuracy is undoubtedly something the game has achieved by correctly naming solar systems and planets after natural systems in the known galaxy, not everyone is an astronomer. This lack of decent labeling can make navigating to even the most well-known locations a hassle without the aid of auto-navigation on the mission screen.

has a vast multitude of companions that space adventurers can meet and recruit to their group. While some have deep and emotional storylines, others have funny personalities or are cool to have around. However, outside the core four Constellation members of Sam Coe, Sarah Morgan, Barrett, and Andreja, the game's other potential ship crew candidates don't get the love they deserve. So far, space adventurers have found a total of 27 different recruitable companions in .

It’s easy to get lost in the massive world of , but there are some important locations every player should know. Discovery is a significant aspect of the gameplay loop, which leads to some excellent moments. However, this means that some may not find particular locations that could have been of great value at an earlier point in their playthrough. It can also be overwhelming to keep track of the enormous number of points of interest in the game, which is further complicated by the lack of a legend and filter tool on the star map.

Adhesive is a common resource in Starfield, and you are going to need a lot of it if you engage with the game’s crafting systems and make yourself some great modded weapons and things for your outpost. Thankfully, there are lots of ways to get your hands on this stuff, although some are more efficient than others.

After completing the "" quest, you will have unlocked "", which is one of the most pivotal missions in . This mission will take you through heists and action-packed battles before giving you the option of siding with the Crimson Fleet or the United Colonies. The choice you make is critical to the game and will have an impact on the rest of your story and playthrough.

Not everyone in Constellation is a gun-toting, space-faring cowboy with daddy issues. No, sometimes Starfield will throw some rich old bloke at you and ask you to give him a hand in some greasy backroom corporate dealings to retrieve yet another artefact. Worry not action-fans, there’s more to this quest than meets the eye. 

Starfield can be a pretty chill experience, but every now and then it will throw the galaxy’s largest spanner at you and you can’t help but be taken aback. At the end of ‘All That Money Can Buy’ you are introduced to the Starborn – a mysterious faction that nobody has ever heard of. Kinda spooky. 

Your quest for the Artifacts in will eventually lead to the mission, which takes you to multiple planets and a mysterious star station known only as The Eye. Featuring battles with deadly mercenaries and plenty of exploration across the galaxy, there are many objectives to pursue. However, there are some difficulties that can make this quest far more challenging than you might expect.

Exploring new locations in Starfield is equal parts intoxicating and rewarding, however, taking time to visit old haunts has its merits too. The game starts on Vectera, and if you are willing to invest some time into the Main Quest, you will quickly find yourself back there on the hunt for your comrade, Barret.

Starfield has a seemingly endless array of side quests for you to experience, however, engaging with the main quest isn’t something you should avoid. Similar to the likes of Skyrim, a lot of funky things start happening once you get to dabbling along the beaten path, and ‘Into The Unknown’ is the first quest to really mix things up.
