Starfield has gone gold, preloads begin tomorrow

Bethesda have announced that Starfield has ‘gone gold’, not that it really means much these days when games have massive day one patches.  That may be the case as the game will be available to preload from tomorrow, August 17th on Xbox, while PC players on Steam have to wait until August 30th.

Starfield devs answer 16 questions from the community and issue a warning: "Don't get caught with those harvested organs"

In the run-up to Starfield's launch, two lead devs from Bethesda took to Discord to hold a little Q&A answering questions sourced from hopeful fans, and the resulting info dump also came with a helpful bit of advice: "Don't get caught with those harvested organs." Just like my grandpa used to say.

Starfield Timeline Details Nearly 300 Years of Backstory Leading up to the Game’s Events

From the rich fantasy settings of The Elder Scrolls to the post-nuclear wastelands of Fallout, Bethesda Game Studios never fail to deliver immersive worlds that are brimming with rich lore and backstory, and it seems that’s going to be the case for the vast space-faring setting of the upcoming Starfield as well. Not too long ago, Bethesda released three animated shorts to highlight that very aspect of the experience, and now, the company has shared yet more fascinating narrative details.

Lords of the Fallen devs want to "improve the death cycle" of soulslike games

After the monumental success of From Software's Dark Souls in 2010, many games sought to follow along with the growing popularity of challenging and stoically designed action RPGs—they came to be known as "soulslikes." One of the earliest soulslikes was 2014's Lords of the Fallen from developer Deck 13. Following a successful launch, publisher CI Games announced a sequel—though that game would take some time to see the light of day.

Starfield’s multiple ideas of time have fans asking about black holes

I've been bolting together some ideas for a longer Starfield feature and while plying the sliplanes of Reddit, stumbled on this conversation about the game's handling of time. As many of you will know/be very weary of hearing, Starfield features hundreds of planets, together with moons and space stations, scattered around the galaxy in different solar systems. Real-life planets, of course, aren't fixed points: they rotate and orbit their stars at the different speeds, depending on their mass and distance, which means that days, nights and seasons have different durations.

Special Starfield Dev Q&A Happening Next Week!

It’s fair to say that Bethesda has put plenty of time and effort into making Starfield their next big IP. They’ve been working on it for years and have toiled away trying to ensure it is everything that they’ve wanted it to be and everything that fans are hoping it will be. But even though we’re getting closer to its September 6th release date, there are still many questions that fans are likely to have about the title. The good news is that Bethesda understands that and wants to answer them, or at least most of them, next week.

Remnant 2 devs “have plans for the grinders”

Remnant 2 is, in many ways, exactly what I wanted from a sequel to Gunfire Games’s fantastic co-op game. The world and art design is gorgeous, the shooting feels sublime, and there’s all manner of builds to craft with all the Remnant 2 Traits, Relics, and Mods on offer. I’m just a few hours in, but I can already see myself playing Remnant 2 for hundreds of hours as I did with the first. Fortunately, the team is already addressing concerns about its endgame grind, and whether certain restrictions might discourage long-term play.
