Starfield: all the news and trailers about Bethesda’s massive space RPG

Starfield is Bethesda’s finest foray into space to date. It’s a sci-fi RPG that redefines the genre and offers fans hundreds of hours of potential gameplay time in which to lose themselves with a title that they’ll look back on fondly for the rest of their lives.

As one of the biggest games of the year, Starfield is expected to be packed with top voice acting talent and interesting characters to keep you entertained for days on end. How much of Hollywood is involved though, if any?

The new Five Nights at Freddy's movie trailer finally gives a full look at all four killer animatronics from the original game - not to mention some of the absolutely gnarly ways they're going to torture and kill their victims.

We're still a little while out from both launch and those Starfield reviews dropping, so  it feels like the best place to start is with the Starfield Direct. Back in June, Bethesda well and truly lifted the lid with what's since been described as a feature film-length documentary about the game.

Solstice Shrines are a helpful side activity in Sea of Stars, offering puzzles for players to complete, and netting them some powerful gear and accessories in the process, all while working towards opening a mysterious door in Mountain Trail. However, these can be a bit difficult for players, and some may need a helping hand to claim the shrine’s treasures.

One streamer and dev has found the perfect way to mark the days until the launch of Starfield: with an online countdown that deposits one digital sandwich into an ever-growing pile every five minutes until the game is out.

You type up some anticipatory emails, grab a cosmo, and turn on your TV. World of Warcraft is bringing the Dawn of the Infinite Mythic+ mega-dungeon into a new phase with the arrival of the Fury Incarnate update. Blizzard already revealed their plans to turn it into two Heroic-level dungeons, but now we know more details on how it will work.

2023 is refusing to let up with its cavalcade of major new releases, and next up in that line is Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon, the long-awaited next instalment in FromSoftware’s cult classic mech action franchise. Those afraid Starfield could suffer yet another last-second delay can officially rest easy, as today Bethesda announced the game has gone gold. While that doesn’t completely rule out a last-second change of plans, it seems Starfield’s September launch is pretty much a lock. Those looking to be ready on Day 1 can begin pre-loading Starfield tomorrow (August 17) on Xbox Series X/S. Unfortunately, those playing on Steam will have to wait until August 30.
