Starfield: 10 Choices That Actually Matter

As Starfield developers begin to depart Bethesda after the release of the studio's massive RPG, some fans are despondently casting their minds forward to the eventual departure of studio lead Todd Howard.

Starfield is already the best-looking and most bug-free Bethesda RPG to date. From the crowded streets of New Atlantis to the desolate plains of all those undiscovered planets, it’s sharp, smooth, and a worthy visual successor to the likes of Fallout 4 and Skyrim. But now the Settled Systems can look even better, thanks to a huge new Starfield HD overhaul mod which boosts dozens of textures to 8K resolution.

Summerfall Studios' debut title Stray Gods is a roleplaying musical where choices matter. It's only been a few weeks since the game debuted, but since then, Summerfall has been inundated with praise for crafting a vibrant mythical adventure about hope, self-discovery, and forging your own path.

Owning a Starfield penthouse has one notable downside: you risk losing everything if the property is stationed in New Atlantis. 

There are many choices to be made in 's DLC, some of which have more severe consequences than others. Certainly some of these choices, like which of the new Relic perks to try out first, are pretty harmless either way. Players can always go back on these later by respeccing; tends to be flexible when it comes to things that exist outside its story, but those aren't the only kinds of decisions players are required to make.

Feel like going for a dip in Starfield? Then you might want to avoid this particular planet. It has a lake or ocean that’s so corrosive that it instantly kills the animals in it. What were they doing there? That’s a question you should perhaps ask Bethesda.

Starfield has a pretty decent range of clothing for all you fashionistas out there, but every now and then you'll spot an NPC wearing a particularly attractive suit or outfit that puts your own threads to shame. If you were playing Skyrim, you could simply get into your best sneaking position and attempt to undress the person where they stand, but Starfield has no feature that allows you to swipe the clothes that NPCs are wearing. Even murdering them doesn't let you take the clothes off their body.

Cyberpunk 2077's latest huge overhaul has led to another player spike, and it's enough to compete with new releases. Cyberpunk is now just behind Starfield on the Steam charts and was even briefly ahead of it earlier today.

It was only a matter of time until people started mashing Starfield up with Skyrim. Combining some of the assets of one Bethesda game with the world of another (or vice versa) was an inevitability. Trust the modding community to come through for us.
