Sledgehammer Games Reveals First Look at Classic Maps Returning in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III - Hardcore Gamer

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III arrives in a bit over a month, and Activision has provided a first peek at the game’s multiplayer in action. As we’ve heard previously, the game will initially focus on offering remastered versions of all the maps from 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 (Afghan, Derail, Estate, Favela, Karachi, Highrise, Invasion, Quarry, Rundown, Rust, Scrapyard, Skid Row, Sub Base, Terminal, Underpass, and Wasteland) with new maps coming post-launch.

Call of Duty fans have been waiting for the next iteration to launch into the marketplace. We, of course, know that the next major installment will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. While players can continue to go through the narrative and pick up the campaign after Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II events, others could be keener on competitive multiplayer matches. That is one of the big selling points for the franchise as players work through a series of matches with their friends online.

The United States’ officially designated “Global War on Terrorism” began 22 years ago, just three days after the Sept. 11 attacks.
