With the game’s launch now less than a month away, Turn 10 Studios has released a video to show off the opening 17 minutes of Forza Motorsport.
The opening races of the game see players hop behind the wheel of the 2024 Chevrolet Corvette E-Ray at Maple Valley, before shifting gears in a major way by jumping into the cockpit of the No. 01 Cadillac Racing V-Series.R. for the final two laps of an endurance race at a fictional circuit in Hakone, Japan. You’ll have fresh tyres and a field of mixed class race cars to pass.
After that point, you’re free to do pretty much whatever you want in the game, whether that’s the single player Builders Cup Career Mode, online multiplayer, free play or Rivals. Choose the Builders Cup and the aim is to ease drivers into the career with a set of starter cars that include the 2019 Subaru STI S209, the 2018 Honda Civic Type R, and the 2018 Ford Mustang GT to choose from, and then races around Grand Oak Club Circuit, Mugello Club Circuit and Kyalami GP Circuit.
The Builders Cup is less about a mad rush of acquiring cars, and more about finishing well in races, earning cash and upgrading your car to improve its performance. Cars will be levelled up, unlocking performance parts and tuning options. Between races, the game will present you with a spider graph to try and visualise your car’s performance level with that particular build. You’ll also be able to switch up race options for Drivatar difficulty, race rules, damage settings, rewind and penalties.
The wider career bounces between tours – Modern Tour has cars that Built for Sport and Super Sedans, Enthusiast Tour has Track Specials and JDM Legends, and so on – and each one will see you take in a single car, level it up, build it better and race to win. Complete a tour and you’ll earn a special reward car at the end. There will also be the Open Class Tours that feature cars of a wider speed classification, and as Turn 10 deliver regular content updates, the Featured Tour will highligh new cars and tracks as they’re added to the game.
Forza Motorsport looks to challenge Gran Turismo 7 by going all in on the latest generation of consoles. Then you have the changing time of day and weather effects that affect ambient air temperatures, track surface temps and the amount of grip you have – as will the track rubbering in through the race. This will be available on all circuits, as opposed to the select circuits in Gran Turismo 7.

Officially, in-development fighting game Project L hasn't been confirmed for a console release, but a social media mishap may have just outed the title for PS5. As such, we assume the footage is taken from some kind of trailer or gameplay video.
