Samwise Didier retires from Blizzard

Capcom has announced that some of the collaboration DLC in Monster Hunter Rise will be delisted in January.

Rockstar has removed the Social Club branding from its website, presumably in anticipation of GTA 6. As per the news account @videotechuk_ on Twitter, the publisher has replaced the nomenclature with simply ‘Rockstar Games' and scrapped any references to ‘Social Club members.' The online gaming service is also missing the old logo now, though players can still engage in multiplayer elements and accrue member-exclusive rewards from games like Grand Theft Auto V and Red Dead Redemption 2. For now, it's unclear whether Rockstar would launch a new platform or simply update the existing application to usher in the new era, but traces of the branding still remain in-game.

Fallout: New Vegas Day last week was a hit, bringing a bunch of fans together to celebrate the whole series, but with a particular focus on Obsidian's spin-off. However, one dedicated fan repped the often-overlooked Fallout 2, turning up with the iconic car you can find to get around the wasteland.

Tactical extraction shooter Escape From Tarkov is adding vaulting, a recoil rework and new armour, as revealed in a developer livestream. Of the bunch, it's vaulting - the act of clambering over a low wall - which has been greeted most feverishly by Tarkov's community, a fact which is honestly not surprising.

It's been 13 years since the original World of Warcraft: Cataclysm trailer dropped and somehow WoW Classic has already caught back up to it. But instead of re-releasing the original video, Blizzard has commissioned a team of visual effects artists, led by a well known community member, to create their own trailer for one of WoW's most pivotal expansions.

Earlier this summer, developer Evening Star Studios and publisher Private Division revealed Penny's Big Breakaway during a Nintendo Direct. While the throwback 3D platforming adventure looked great in its own right, what caught a lot of people's attention was the team behind it. Evening Star's creative director and lead engine architect is Christian Whitehead, one of the lead developers behind 2017's Sonic Mania. Whitehead isn't alone, though, as various other Evening Star developers also worked on Sonic Mania. While we've still got some time before the game's release – it's due out sometime in 2024 – Game Informer has a special sneak peek at its music and can exclusively reveal three tracks from the game. 

Blizzard has announced that Samwise Didier is leaving the studio after having worked there for 32 years. Didier took to social media platform X to announce that he is retiring after a storied career having worked as art director on influential titles like StarCraft and Diablo, among other games.
