When Team Ninja said a new update for Rise of the Ronin would arrive this week, we didn’t think it meant today. Nevertheless, Ver. 1.05 is out now and adds many impressive quality-of-life improvements and new content.
For example, the new Ally missions involve teaming up in Midnight difficulty and taking out enemies in Honmachi, Honjo and Honnoji. “Path of Chaos” features different enemies each time, while “Eternal Night” promises to be the “most difficult mission thus far.” As for the two new set bonuses, the Precious Dragon set grants Last Ditch Counterspark (which allows for one final use when out of Ki), reduces the Max Ki of enemies after a Grapple Attack and upgrades your Counterspark.
The Ferocious Tiger set grants the Blade Flash attack, an upgraded forward dodge, an attack increase after a Martial Skill Swap and Ki Regeneration on Blade Flash. You can also train against opponents in the Dojo, like your Blade Twin and even some bosses exclusive to Bond Missions.
Check out the full patch notes in the tweet below for more details, including weapon adjustments and bug fixes. Rise of the Ronin is available for PS5 – you can read our review, where we gave it a 6 out of 10, here.

Recent leaks had claimed that PlayStation would be announcing a LEGO-themed game based on Guerrilla’s Horizon franchise at Summer Game Fest, and that has indeed turned out to be accurate.
Dear Trailblazers, greetings from the Honkai: Star Rail dev team. Today, we are excited to share the details of Honkai: Star Rail version 2.3, Farewell Penacony. This update introduces the highly anticipated Stellaron Hunter, Firefly, as well as a significant figure from the IPC, Jade. Additionally, under the guidance of Mr. Screwllum, the new update in the Simulated Universe – Divergent Universe – will be unveiled as well.
A new Warbond is on the way to Helldivers 2, and it’s the first step in Arrowhead shaking up the game’s update schedule. The Viper Commandos Warbond is themed after jungle combat — camo prints, red berets, bare arms, throwing knives, skull masks, and everything else you can equip while CCR’s “Fortunate Son” blasts over a speaker nearby.
Concord’s $39.99 price point “provides the full experience,” Sony has said.
Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have released Rise of the Ronin update 1.06. Ready to download on PS5, this latest patch includes a small number of changes and improvements for the 2024 open-world samurai simulator.
Sony will announce LEGO Horizon Adventures for PlayStation 5 and PC this week during Summer Game Fest, according to a new report.
This week is the week of Summer Game Fest 2024. Ah, SGF! The Geoffers, as they call it down Los Angeles way. The Not-E3s. The Midsomer Keighleys. Jumping G.K's Game-a-Palooza. The AAAArghs. The Second Fall Of Babel. Trailarmageddon. The Sparkling Stink. SGF is sort of already in motion - last week, Sony kicked off the proceedings with their latest State of Play showcase, but you can expect the majority of new videogame announcements from Friday 7th June with the Summer Game Fest 2024 Opening Showcase, a two-hour livestreamed event which starts at 10pm UK, 5pm ET and 2pm PT. I'll be out there covering the whole sorry affair in LA from Thursday to Monday while the remainder of Rock Paper Shotgun hold the fort on London time.
Per last night’s Sony State of Play, PS5 darling and supposedly rather good action-dad adventure God of War Ragnarök is coming to PC on September 19th 2024. The good news is that the port, co-developed by Jetpack Interactive and original makers Santa Monica Studio, will pack in all the DLSS 3, FSR 3, and ultrawide what-have-yous that one might expect from a big, monied PC release. The bad, silly, clearly pointless news is that it will need a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, despite the complete lack of multiplayer.
Two more PlayStation first-party titles are making the leap to PC.
Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Omega Force have announced Dynasty Warriors: Origins for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC (Steam). It will launch in 2025.
At today's State of Play May 2024 presentation, Sony released a new trailer for the upcoming remaster of Until Dawn and confirmed that the enhanced port for PC and PS5 will be released in Fall 2024.
