Sony originally revealed in January that it would be porting Supermassive Games' 2015 horror game for PC and PS5. As previously confirmed when the project was announced, the UK studio Ballistic Moon is tasked with porting Until Dawn to PC and PS5.
Powered by Unreal Engine 5, Until Dawn's remaster will include improved animations and detail in environments to enhance what was already a cinematic horror experience when it was initially released on PS4.
An enhanced version of Until Dawn has been coming for a long time. Though its initial release was met with critical acclaim, replaying Until Dawn can be hard for most due to its framerate issues. The framerate would reach as low as 20 frames per second (FPS) or as high as 40FPS, depending on what was displayed onscreen, due Supermassive not capping the framerate to 30FPS.
Although Supermassive Games is best known these days as a horror studio that specializes in narrative-focused, choose-your-own-adventure horror games, most notably The Dark Pictures Anthology series, Until Dawn became a massive hit for the studio and helped make the developer becoming a household name for horror game fanatics.
Since Until Dawn's release, Supermassive has released two spin-off games: Until Dawn: Rush of Blood and The Inpatient, both released exclusively on the PlayStation VR in 2016 and 2017, respectively. Additionally, it was announced last January that Until Dawn would be getting a film adaptation directed by David F. Sandberg, whose previous directing credits include Lights Out, Annabelle: Creation, and the DCU Shazam! films.
In our review of Until Dawn, IGN wrote: "Until Dawn is a flawed but fun experience. Though an unfocused story means it falls short of greatness, it's an otherwise entertaining homage to the curious traditions of horror movies, which pays off your in-game decisions with occasionally shocking consequences."

Screen Gems and PlayStation Studios have officially welcomed four young actors to join the movie cast for the highly-anticipated live-action adaptation of the popular horror video game franchise. The project comes after nearly a decade since Supermassive Games and Sony had first launched the interactive video game.
Last week during the Summer Game Awards, Sony announced Lego Horizon Adventures, which, surprisingly, is coming to PC, PS5, and… Nintendo Switch. Of course, Sony has become more open to bringing their games to PC in recent years, but launching on another competing console is still very rare for PlayStation outside of the MLB The Show series where the decision was forced by MLB.
Noctilucent: Before Dawn is an upcoming BL gacha game that’s in the works. I’ve been keeping tabs on the game and the latest update is that the devs dropped a development update recently. So what did they reveal? Keep reading to know about it!
One of the bigger stories in 2024 is how Helldivers 2 exploded in popularity to such a degree that Arrowhead decided to postpone a pre-planned PSN login requirement on PC. When the developer eventually attempted to enforce the feature, the Internet imploded, leading to such a fierce review bombing campaign that PlayStation was forced to backtrack.
Sony and developer Ballistic Moon have unveiled a gameplay trailer for the upcoming PS5 and PC remaster of Until Dawn. The beloved PS4 horror game is getting spruced up for modern machines, and it's looking good from what's been shown here.
PC gamers in countries without PlayStation Network have expressed their frustration at Sony after the confirmation they cannot buy single-player games God of War Ragnarok and Until Dawn on Steam.
Per last night’s Sony State of Play, PS5 darling and supposedly rather good action-dad adventure God of War Ragnarök is coming to PC on September 19th 2024. The good news is that the port, co-developed by Jetpack Interactive and original makers Santa Monica Studio, will pack in all the DLSS 3, FSR 3, and ultrawide what-have-yous that one might expect from a big, monied PC release. The bad, silly, clearly pointless news is that it will need a PlayStation Network (PSN) account, despite the complete lack of multiplayer.
PlayStation’sUntil Dawn remake will launch this fall for PlayStation 5 and PC. The news was revealed on today’s Sony State of Play stream, which featured a new trailer for the project that showed off its modernized visuals created in Unreal Engine 5. Until Dawn is a PlayStation 4 horror game from developer S
The Silent Hill 2 remake from Bloober Team got two new gameplay trailers and a release date announcement at PlayStation’s State of Play presentation and a Silent Hill Transmission stream directly after. Fans will be able to return to the town of Silent Hill on October 8 on both PS5 and PC. The first new trailer highlighted a mix of gameplay and cinematics
Two more PlayStation first-party titles are making the leap to PC.
After having already enjoyed impressive success on PC with Helldivers 2 and Ghost of Tsushima this year, Sony is set to keep that momentum going with more major first-party releases in the form of not only the previously-announced remaster of Until Dawn developed by Ballistic Moon, but also a PC port of God of War Ragnarok, which was officially announced on the back of recent leaks.
