Halo season 2 is less than a month away, and Paramount Plus has just revealed the season’s latest trailer. Master Chief and the Spartans (excellent name for a Halo cover band, by the way) will return to face off against the Covenant on one of the most important locations in the Halo universe: the planet Reach.
The trailer lets you know immediately what the stakes are for Halo season 2, with a voiceover addressing the people of Reach. The voice — possibly belonging to Makee (Charlie Murphy), Master Chief’s girlfriend — continues, saying she will be the instrument of their extinction. We’re treated to gloomy scenes of Master Chief (Pablo Schreiber) outnumbered by covenant elites and Kai-125 (Kate Kennedy) watching Covenant orbital strikes destroy UNSC ships, while Captain Jacob Keyes (Danny Sapani) inspires a group of soldiers to make their last stand.
If you know Halo lore, you’re probably getting goosebumps right now. If you don’t, here’s a prescription for Halo: Reach on Xbox, the Deliver Hope trailer, and a copy of Halo: The Fall of Reach by Eric Nylund — take all three and call me in the morning.
Knowing that the Halo live-action series takes interesting liberties with the characters and stories, I’m a little bummed we won’t see the fall of Reach through the heroism of Halo: Reach’s Noble Team or in Nylund’s book. But the first season of Halo worked best when it let Spartans grapple with their humanity, then let them off the leash to punch some aliens to death. I can think of no better situation suited to explore both of those ideas in full than during one of the most significant events in all of Halo lore.
Halo season 2 premieres February 8th on Paramount Plus.

Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is arriving in the marketplace next month, so quite a few fans eagerly await to check this game out. With that said, this game made some fans skeptical about its release. It’s a live service title that typically means battle passes and additional content locked behind paywalls. But in a new post and a behind-the-scenes video, it looks like this game will feature plenty of content ready for players to enjoy for free. Included is the addition of the Joker.
A recent Fortnite leak has revealed that four vaulted items will be brought back to the game in Chapter 5 Season 1. Following the conclusion of Chapter 4, Fortnite has made some changes to the item pool, sending the likes of Drum Shotgun, Grapple Glove, and Infantry Rifle to the vault for an unspecified time. However, the battle royale has replaced them with some powerful equipment, such as Grapple Blade and Frenzy Auto Shotgun.
Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League being a live service looter shooter may have drawn criticism from plenty of people, but the prospect of Rocksteady developing a game based on the IP is still an intriguing one, especially given the spectacular job the studio did with Batman in its Arkham trilogy. Whether or not the developer is able to replicate that with Suicide Squad remains to be seen, but one particular newly-emerged detail will likely put a smile on your face if you’re a fan of the IP.
Before Halo Infinite’s launch, 343 Industries said it would be supporting the game for the next decade. Needless to say, things haven’t quite panned out that way- but just when it looked like the first-person shooter was finally gearing up to make a comeback, 343 Industries has announced that it’s all but slowing down support.
cutscenes don’t always play out in ways that are necessarily ideal, but there’s one easy technique that can help make characters look more presentable at virtually any point in the game. Unlike the first two games in the series and many similar RPG competitors, features extensive voice acting and motion capture to bring conversations to life. This can provide enormous benefits to overall immersion, but it also provides plenty of opportunities for minor things to become distracting.
