Princess Peach is enjoying a bit of a moment right now, largely due to her well-received portrayal in the very successful Super Mario Bros. Movie, and now the Mushroom Kingdom monarch is getting her first game in nearly two decades. This game was first teased during the last Nintendo Direct, but today during a new Direct we got actual details on the upcoming game Princess Peach: Showtime!
This time around, Princess Peach is getting into community theatre, but a new team of baddies (the excellently-named “Grape and the Sour Bunch”) take over the show. It’s up to Peach to save the play, and she does that with a variety of transformations, including Swordfighter, Detective, Patisserie, and Martial Arts Peach. It seems like variety is the order of the day here, as each level in Princess Peach: Showtime! appears to feature a different type of gameplay (action, mystery solving, baking). You can check out the first trailer for Princess Peach: Showtime! below.
Definitely looks like a step up from 2005’s Super Princess Peach and its somewhat retrograde “Peach fights by crying at everything” concept. Here's a bit more information about Princess Peach: Showtime, courtesy of Nintendo...
"The leading lady is ready for her spotlight on Nintendo Switch. Just as Princess Peach and her retinue of Toads are attending a show at the Sparkle Theater, the wicked Grape and the Sour Bunch take center stage to cause a ruckus. Now it’s up to Peach and Stella, the theater’s guardian, to save the play – and the day.
Luckily, Peach has gained some showstopping abilities: She can now use the power of Stella’s ribbon – and she can transform! For example, Peach can become a Swordfighter to fend off foes with sensational swordplay, mix it up with martial arts moves as Kung Fu Peach or show off her sweet skills as a pastry chef. And one more thing – she can even crack the case as Detective Peach! In this adventure, the gameplay changes depending on Peach’s role, and even more surprising transformations are waiting to be revealed."
Princess Peach: Showtime! launches on Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2024.

It’s been too long (almost 17 years!) since we last got a standalone game with the proud matriarch of the house of Toadstool in the lead role. That’s changing soon with Princess Peach: Showtime, a new platforming adventure to look forward to starring the hot pink heroine of the Super Mario Bros. franchise. It launches March 22, 2024, on Nintendo Switch.

The world of is expanded greatly in, but the new DLC also gives some intriguing hints towards future content, including a brand new Legendary Pokémon to accompany those already revealed. Similar to its predecessor, will introduce several new Pokémon later this year, including a pair of new DLC Paradox Pokémon to complement the previous distribution of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves. However, subtle clues suggest that these will not be the only unique additions to the franchise.
Princess Peach: Showtime is scheduled to release in late March 2024, marking the launch of the first game starring Princess Peach as the protagonist in almost 20 years, and there’s a lot to look forward to. Straying from the traditional location of the Mushroom Kingdom which we typically see in Mario games, this adventure with Princess Peach should be on your radar of upcoming Nintendo Switch games if it’s not already.
