Following many rumors that Princess Peach was going to be getting her own Nintendo Switch game, was officially announced with a release date during today’s Nintendo Direct. The monarch of the Mushroom Kingdom will be taking on Grape and the Sour Bunch using a myriad of different abilities to save the day.
Princess Peach: Showtime! will be released on Nintendo Switch on March 22, 2024. Pre-orders for the game will begin on the Nintendo eShop and at select retailers later today.
When Princess Peach and a couple of loyal Toads visit the Sparkle Theater, they’re expecting to see a show. When the villainous Grape and the Sour Bunch take over the theater, she must team up with the theater’s guardian Stella to save all of the plays that are due to take to the stage.
Stella possesses a ribbon that Princess Peach can use as a weapon to defeat the Sour Bunch. However, it also allows her to transform into a variety of other guises to access other parts of the theater and take on more powerful enemies. Each of her different transformations will change the gameplay so that it’s more appropriate to her role.
There’s Swordfighter Peach, who can use impressive moves to defeat enemies and chop down the thorns that block her way, while Detective Peach must use her skills to find clues to the missing museum artifacts and their thief. Pâtissière Peach needs to replace the desserts stolen from the Sweets Festival, while Kung Fu Peach must use her best fighting skills to take back the martial arts school from the Sour Bunch.
Nintendo promised that there would be more Princess Peach transformations that are yet to be revealed. More information on these will likely be revealed before the game’s March release date.

I was very pleasantly surprised when 3D Realms announced in January 2020 that a remaster of the 1999 FPS Kingpin: Life of Crime was in the works. It's not an especially well-known shooter, but I have fond memories of its extreme violence, grimy ambience, endless profanity, and overall sense of silliness—it's a game that aspired to be as over-the-top as possible on all fronts. Alas, the release was delayed in November of that same year, after which it fell off the radar completely.

Some trailers just blow you away, and that's exactly what we got from this latest look at Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. Utterly packed with nostalgia, this trailer's got the lot: our first glimpse of additional party members Cait Sith and Vincent, remade minigames plucked straight from the original, and, yes, a playable Sephiroth.
