Ubisoft released a new update for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to address several in-game bugs and issues across all versions of the game. Despite the game's critical acclaim, there's still plenty of room for improvement in Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown due to several lingering problems that can affect a player's experience greatly.
Developed by Ubisoft Montpellier, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is the first new entry in the long-running franchise for consoles and PC in more than a decade. The latest Prince of Persia game launched on January 18 with a glowing reception from critics and fans alike. In fact, the game sits at an impressive Metascore of 86, with an equally commendable 90 user score. However, rumors suggest Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown sales may have underperformed under Ubisoft's expectations. In addition, various technical issues affected a few players following the game's launch, prompting the development team to release multiple patches.
The official Discord server for Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown confirms update 1.0.4 is available now on all platforms, with the Nintendo Switch version receiving the same round of bug fixes in update 1.0.5. As reported by Mp1st, the update addresses numerous bugs that previously affected the game's user interface, overall gameplay, and certain quests. Firstly, the reward notification for Young Sargon and the Digital Artbooks unlock has been fixed, so players shouldn't have any issues while using the in-game overlay for Ubisoft Connect on PC. Moreover, the in-game cursor and health bar will no longer be stuck on the screen if the player attempts to focus on a Memory Shard or upgrade a Blessing amulet.
A slew of gameplay fixes ensure that the player character, Sargon, will not be stuck in a section of Mount Oaf or glitched in an area after a soft reset. For example, Sargon may become invincible and invisible after using Shadow of the Simurgh when the Dragon King amulet's effects are active. Going forward, players shouldn't have any issues with Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown's Moon Gatherer, Treasure of the Seven Seas, and Lost Warriors quests either.
The latest update is essential for players looking to fully complete Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown and unlock all trophies/achievements. More updates are likely to come, since Ubisoft Montpellier is still investigating known issues from player reports. Those wanting to share feedback with the developers may join the game's official Discord server.

Prince Of Persia: The Lost Crown, Ubisoft's highly polished prototypical Metroidvania, was released last month and instantly earned its place on our list of the best of the genre. Now Ubisoft Montpellier say they're planning free updates to add extra content and modes, with the first to arrive soon.

It’s been confirmed that Ubisoft’s recent side-scrolling metroidvania Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown is set to receive more content in free updates, the first of which is set to arrive “soon.”
The Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown director has announced some interesting developments for the game, promising free updates, additional content, and new modes to enhance players' experiences in the coming months. Since its release, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has received a lot of support from fans who might be excited to know about these new developments.
Launching a little over a month ago, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown may not have got off to a great start from a sales perspective (if reports are to be believed, at least), but the 2D Metroidvania action-platformer has, nonetheless, received near-universal acclaim from those who’ve played it, and it seems that reception hasn’t gone unnoticed at Ubisoft.
Ubisoft Montpellier's Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown was the first relatively big game to be released this year, and it was a success. The game earned a 9/10 score in Wccftech's review by Francesco De Meo:
Arrowhead Game Studios releases update 1.000.10 for Helldivers 2, making additional improvements to game performance, log in related issues, as well as additional crash fixes. The latest patch arrives after a tumultuous weekend in which Arrowhead activated a double XP and Requisitions modifier in Helldivers 2 as a way to apologize for the server issues at launch. Unfortunately, the act caused an even bigger bottleneck as more and more players attempted to access the game, which ultimately compounded the problems even more.
Sea of Thieves has released a large new update that comes in at around 100 GB on Xbox consoles and PC. Although the Sea of Thieves patch does introduce plenty of improvements and bug fixes, the real reason for the update's large size is that it implements the latest Xbox Game Development Kit, which will benefit users in the future.
It’s safe to say that Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown has made a lasting impression on us. Effortlessly reinvigorating a franchise on life support, Ubisoft Montpellier brought the Prince back from his recent lacklustre misadventures in 3D to return him to his glorious origins of 2D; crafting a sumptuous metroidvania in the process. With an intricate world to explore, precision platforming, vast double-hard bosses, and kick-ass combat, Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown wowed upon release. It wasn’t just the gameplay that scored big though, it was also the authentic manner in which Persian folklore and history were weaved into proceedings. Indeed, Persian Mythology and Culture seemed to have a much greater influence on The Lost Crown than in previous games in the storied history of the Prince of Persia franchise.
In the past few years, Metroidvanias and action-adventure platformers have seen a resurgence. Ori and the Blind Forest, Hollow Knight and Dead Cells have breathed new life into the genre, bringing fresh ideas to its established ethos. There's also a renewed appetite for challenging games. Dark Souls came around in 2011 and redefined what one could take away from a video game. They can be fun, sure. But they can be punishing, too. Fast forward a decade, and we now have people playing Elden Ring with a steering wheel. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Ubisoft's latest Metroidvania action-adventure platformer, assimilates elements from these games and subgenres to tread familiar ground, but it does so in its own unique ways.
