The Wand Company revealed at the end of January that it would be releasing miniature versions of its luxury Poke Ball replica collection. Showing off five of the Poke Ball types that will be getting shrunk down to look the way they do when clipped to a trainer's belt, what the initial reveal didn't divulge is how much the replicas will cost. Now the first of the five designs is available to buy on Amazon, the price of the mini Poke Balls has been confirmed.
Naturally, the first of The Wand Company's official Poke Ball replicas is the most iconic design of all. The regular red and white Poke Ball that is effectively Pokemon's logo, and possibly even more synonymous with the franchise than Pikachu. Available to buy on Amazon through the link in the box below, the mini Poke Ball costs $59.99. Significantly cheaper than the full-size options which are $99.99 each.
Even though it's not recommended you throw The Wand Company's Poke Balls like a real trainer might do, everything else about the replicas is about as close to what the real thing would likely be as you can imagine. The models are even interactive. Powered by batteries - both the ball itself and the stand it comes with - the closer your hand gets to the Poke Ball, the more it will glow, and the color it glows will change too. The Poke Ball will glow brightest when you hold it in your hand, provided you're making contact with both halves of the ball.
The Wand Company has turned its full-sized Poke Ball replica into a miniature collectible. Battery-powered and interactive, the LED lights on the Poke Ball react to your hand, glowing brighter and different colors depending on how close you are and how you hold it.
Each Poke Ball is numbered, making the one you buy unique to you, and the Pokemon featured on the silver plate that comes with it will differ depending on the type of Poke Ball you buy. For now, the traditional red and white Poke Ball appears to be the only one available. Already revealed, the Great, Ultra, Premier, and Cherish Balls will also be added to the mini collection at a later date. If popular enough, hopefully The Wand Company will turn all of the Poke Balls it has made full-sized replicas for into miniature versions.
Even though Pokemon has been a little quiet lately on the video game front, likely in anticipation of Pokemon Day, the same can't be said when it comes to collectibles. Not only do we now have the first mini Poke Balls in The Wand Company's collection, but Pokemon's Funko Pop! collection has grown a fair bit already this year. Luxray, Grookey, and Wooloo have made their debuts, and a Funko Pop! Moment that recreates picking your starter Pokemon in Red & Blue has also proved very popular.
