PlayStation releases digital Jim Ryan bobblehead as nod to his career

While he may not be as well known as, say, Jim Ryan, longtime PlayStation fans will no doubt recognize the name Gio Corsi. As PlayStation’s former senior director of third party production, Corsi spearheaded a lot of initiatives – he was particularly noted as a booster of the PS Vita and was responsible for bringing a lot of Japanese Vita titles to a worldwide audience. He also was responsible for jumpstarting interest in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon franchise worldwide after the series initially kind of sputtered out in the West.

Hideo Kojima and Remedy Entertainment creative director Sam Lake have teased a mysterious project they're involved in at Kojima Productions. Hideo Kojima is known for working with a number of high-profile actors and creators and inserting their likenesses into his games. For example, Death Stranding characters Deadman, Sam Bridges, and Cliff were based on full-body scans of Guillermo del Toro, Norman Reedus, and Mads Mikkelsen, respectively. Some of Kojima Productions' upcoming games will continue using high-profile actors and their likenesses, including Death Stranding 2 and OD.

PlayStation 5 Slim — or PS 5 Slim — went on sale in India on Friday, and customers can now purchase the gaming console online or via retail stores. The PS5 was launched globally in 2019 and was highly sought after, so much so that scalpers started reselling it on eBay for massive profits. With the shortage over and gamers enjoying a selection of excellent games, Sony has launched the latest iteration of the PS5, dubbed the PS5 Slim.

Indian quick commerce company Blinkit has now promised to bring the all-new PlayStation 5 (PS5) Slim to gamers' doorsteps. This move comes amidst the launch of the new Sony PS5 Slim in India and its sale commencing today at 10 AM IST, and the company aims to make it more easily accessible, taking advantage of Blinkit's 10-minute delivery services which are usually used for grocery and other household goods.

After Google engineers hacked the PlayStation Portal to run PSP games natively, Sony fixed the bug, removing this unintended functionality from its latest handheld. The fix had a helping hand from engineers Andy Nguyen and Calle Svensson when the former said they «responsibly reported the issues to PlayStation,» allowing Sony to find and patch the bug.

Sony president Hiroki Totoki will today step into his new role as PlayStation CEO following Jim Ryan's retirement after a more than 30-year tenure at the company. While retaining his duties across the wider business, Totoki's main objective will be to aid the search for a true successor to Jim Ryan while defining «the next chapter of PlayStation's future».

Jim Ryan shared one last thing about PlayStation, that was clearly for the fans.
