The PlayStation 5 Pro will be marketed as a 120 FPS, 4K machine, thanks to its better specs and AI upscaling, which Sony has been working on for a while, according to rumors circulating online.
In a new video shared today by Moore's Law is Dead, NXGamer's Michael revealed that a few unnamed sources confirmed that the upcoming hardware refresh will indeed feature some AI upscaling in the vein of NVIDIA DLSS that has been in the works for some time, which, alongside the improved specs over the base model, will allow Sony to market the system as a 120 FPS, 4K machine. While it wouldn't be a native 4K machine, the Japanese company wouldn't have any problem marketing it as such as nowadays, upscaling and image reconstruction tech are widely used in the industry, unlike in 2016, when the PS4 Pro's checkerboard rendering was among the few reconstruction techs available to consumers.
How AI upscaling will work for the PlayStation 5 Pro remains to be seen, but it will likely require some work from the developers to implement it, according to NXGamer's Michael. On the other hand, performance improvements will likely not require much work from developers, especially for the games that already come with VRR-enabled 40 FPS modes. The fact that most first-party titles on PlayStation 5 come with these modes is a very good indication of this, as first-party studios would be among the first to know about Sony's plans and future-proof their games, so to speak.
While the points in the video above sound extremely likely, we must take everything said today with a grain of salt. The PlayStation 5 Pro has yet to be officially unveiled, so there's currently no way of knowing how the console's power will improve visuals and performance.
At this point, however, even with an official confirmation, it seems almost sure that a PlayStation 5 Pro will be released at some point. Earlier today, we reported a broad consensus in the industry for a launch in the second half of the year.

It's once again Thursday, so NVIDIA has news for GeForce NOW users. To begin with, the cloud service is adding the popular action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink, which was released last month by Cygames. Granblue Fantasy: Relink earned an 8 out of 10 score in Wccftech's review by Ule Lopez:

Arrowhead have released a new Helldivers 2 update - patch 01.000.100 - which designer Alex K describes as "the first round in a never-ending series of balance changes". The patch nerfs three of what were hitherto the best Helldivers 2 guns and gear pieces - the SG-225 Breaker shotgun, the RS-422 railgun, and the SH-32 shield generator backpack, all of which break Arrowhead's pretty straightforward golden rule that "each gun has its purpose and none is strictly better than another".
The Yuzu Switch emulator telemetry feature was used by Nintendo to prove how the emulator was used to play pirated games, often before their official release.
It seems like Dragon's Dogma 2's frame rate debacle has been going on for an age, with rumors flying regarding whether it's actually locked to 30fps as suggested by a report from IGN Japan. Last month, the whole thing looked to be over as the game's director Hideaki Itsuno confirmed the game would have an uncapped frame rate on both PC and consoles, leading many to believe the game would run at 60fps or higher.

As players gear up for the launch of on PC, they may want to start deleting some unnecessary files off their SSDs. Since Sony has begun bringing over some of its more popular titles to PC, fans who lack a PlayStation 5 can finally get a taste of the console's widely-praised catalog of exclusive titles. Of course, now that modern hardware largely runs off some heft technology, the only limit for players on Steam and the Epic Game Store is the power of their computer.
