It seems like Dragon's Dogma 2's frame rate debacle has been going on for an age, with rumors flying regarding whether it's actually locked to 30fps as suggested by a report from IGN Japan. Last month, the whole thing looked to be over as the game's director Hideaki Itsuno confirmed the game would have an uncapped frame rate on both PC and consoles, leading many to believe the game would run at 60fps or higher.
Unfortunately, that doesn't appear to be the case, as Itsuno recently clarified during an interview with Game Informer that while the game will have an uncapped frame rate as previously stated, it will be running at "around or higher than 30fps". He goes on to explain that this will be the case for every console release too, which isn't great news for those of you still holding out hope for 60fps.
If you're now sitting there thinking it's fine because you'll just play the game in Performance Mode anyway, I've got bad news for you on that front too. Itsuno has also explained that Dragon's Dogma 2 will only have one graphics mode, and will not have "multiple sets of options" to get better performance out of your game. We've seen multiple games in this generation offer up less fidelity for higher performance, such as the recently released Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, though it's now confirmed this won't be the case for Dragon's Dogma 2.
The game has an uncapped frame rate. We're aiming to go at around or higher than 30fps. That is for consoles as well. There are some functions that you can turn on and off, but there aren't multiple sets of options that you can change at once.
If you're a bit of a frame rate connoisseur, you'll know that an uncapped frame rate targeting around 30fps isn't too great these days, with a lot of people preferring to have a locked and consistent 30fps instead. If Dragon's Dogma 2 has the capacity to exceed 30fps, then it most likely also have the ability to drop below that as well, and we could see a few performance issues during some of the game's busier moments as a result.
Thankfully, if you have a beefy PC, it sounds as though you'll be able to get the game up to at least 60 fps with some tinkering. It's not ideal, and console players will have to settle for a shaky 30fps, but at least the whole debacle has been put to rest now.

Pawns are great for a little extra storage space in , but it's not immediately clear what happens to the items they're given. Via the Pawn system in , players are able both to create a permanent Main Pawn, and to hire two additional Pawns from an extensive menu of community creations. Pawns have many uses — their primary purposes are to aid the player character in combat and offer situational advice, but they can also hang onto any spare items beyond the Arisen's carrying capacity.

Capcom's eagerly-anticipated action RPG, Dragon's Dogma 2, is so close you can almost taste it, releasing on PS5 on 22nd March. Sadly, as is so often the case, it seems like a couple of copies have broken containment, and story spoilers are out in the wild, with both video and live-streamed spoilers out there for the unwary to encounter.
Wanted to start a thread for this hopefully fantastic game. My hype for this is building and opened a chat for anyone else interested. I just pre-ordered the deluxe edition, not so much for what I get, but more of a thank you Capcom for making another Dragons Dogma. What is everyone hoping for in this game? What class are thinking of going with?
Dragon's Dogma series director Hideaki Itsuno has announced that the meat you can cook in Dragon's Dogma 2 is, in fact, "real meat". There's been a certain amount of PlayStation-instigated speculation about whether the meat is CGI-generated, following the last round of Dragon's Dogma 2 previews. Speaking to Japanese site 4Gamer, as translated by Automaton, Itsuno revealed that the game's scenes of sizzling flesh are derived from live action film of steaks being grilled - partly for the sake of authenticity, and partly to save money versus creating computer models of meat products. You can cook several types of meat in Dragon's Dogma, each of which has its own cutscene, and a number of Dragon's Dogmatists are already performatively salivating at the prospect on social media.
