We all know that bugs represent an existential threat to the future of Super Earth and, by extension, to the players of Arrowhead's excellent Helldivers 2. However, the ongoing Galactic War effort is being undermined by one more treacherous than most. This makes determining precisely how much Liberty has been spread recently tricky and doubtless will impact morale.

At long last, the curtains have been drawn back on Judas, the first game from BioShock creator Ken Levine's outfit, Ghost Story Games. Courtesy of IGN, we've got our best look yet at the game, how its intriguing «narrative LEGOs» design philosophy works in play, and, of course, a familiar, chaotic form of powered combat we've been missing desperately. Bringing Geoff Keighley along for the ride, IGN sat down for a massive interview with Levine, which is where the fount of information sprang from.

Dragon's Dogma 2 is currently the game everyone online seems to be playing. Clips of open world insanity proliferate on social media platforms as players get to grips with Capcom's latest genre-defining romp, which was partly to be expected. What took players by surprise, however, was the swathe of seemingly sinister microtransactions that were made available as soon as the single-player, $70 RPG went live, as well as rough technical performance on both PS5 and PC.

While the sad news that developer Larian Studios will not be working on a sequel or DLC for the breakout 2023 RPG Baldur's Gate 3 is true, additional evil endings are on the way and should help salve the wound. Add that to the previously announced mod support promised for PS5, and that's all she wrote for the revolutionary roleplaying experience, which we hailed as «one of the greatest RPGs of our time.»

Ubisoft's hotly anticipated PS5 game, Star Wars Outlaws, has been rated in Australia. The filing was made on 20th March (thanks, Kotaku), and there is speculation that a release date could be imminent, although that last part remains to be seen.

Things have been quiet on the Suicide Squad front since the game was released in February. Publisher Warner Bros was disappointed by the game's poor sales but doubled down on making its live service dream a reality. Sony first-party developer Bend Studios is staffing up for another «AAA live service» game, and it seems that PlayStation will continue to chase the live service dragon. When we last heard from the Oregan-based developer of Days Gone, Bend said it was still «cooking» and, if nothing else, seemed confident whatever they were working on would take the studio to the next level.

Reports of a mysterious affliction infecting the Pawns of Dragon's Dogma 2 players, the AI-assisted NPC companion each player creates, have begun to trickle in. This sinister disease is known as Dragonsplague and affected Pawns will exhibit red glowing eyes, incoherent speech, disobedience, and increased aggression. Letting one into your party can have catastrophic, permanent consequences for your game world and inadvertently spread to others. This is an evolving situation. Sony's first-party Santa Monica Studio is currently working on a new PS5 game, that much is known, having wrapped development on God of War Ragnarok with the release of the essential Valhalla DLC. If we had to bet, it will be quite some time before we hear anything more concrete, but one thing's for sure: whatever they are up to, creative director Cory Barlog seems incredibly excited about it.

Less than a day after the news that Take-Two Interactive would acquire Borderlands developer Gearbox Entertainment from the embattled Embracer Group, layoffs have already begun. In the hours since former Gearbox employees were made redundant, they've taken to Twitter, and while the total number of staff impacted remains hard to determine, it sounds significant.

Dune: Awakening from developer Funcom has a lot of hype to live up to in the wake of two inescapable films from Dennis Villeneuve based on Frank Herbet's legendary sci-fi novels. Thankfully, it seems to be on track, judging first from the scorching gameplay released at the start of the month and now glowing preview coverage from outlet IGN, which has us more hyped than ever. We still don't have a release date on this one, but it has been foretold that it will come to PS5, someday.
