Baldur’s Gate 3: Every Party Member, Ranked

World-ending, god-slaying, and badass. These words perfectly encapsulate the scale of Baldur’s Gate 3’s story. It’s endlessly intriguing, bombastically epic, and easily one of the best narratives to be told in recent memory. Despite all of that, a lot of the plot is driven by the cast of characters you meet on your journey.

Baldur’s Gate 3: Every Class, Ranked

There are a whopping 12 classes in Baldur’s Gate 3, and whilst all of them have a place, they are most certainly not all created equally. Like in any game, some classes rise to the top, and others languish in the bowels of underused irrelevance. It is simply how these things go, especially when classes start to overlap.

Dark and Darker will make you start from scratch every few months

As the Dark and Dark early access launch continues, Ironmace has confirmed already that the RPG game will feature microtransactions, and that it is deploying a range of fixes to help with stuttering issues. Now the developer says it is introducing a controversial feature found in other seasonal games such as Diablo 4, Rust, and Escape from Tarkov, as it also works towards the full Dark and Darker release date. If you’ve spent a while building and refining your Dark and Darker character, they might not be around forever.

Larian founder responds to debate over Baldur's Gate 3 'raising the bar' for RPGs: 'this is videogames, standards just die every day'

Baldur's Gate 3 is an exceptional game: a grognardy CRPG with complex and barely-explained D&D rules and a massive mainstream success, even before its console releases. With Diablo 4's always-online grind providing the perfect contrast, it's come across to some as a victory over malignant modern videogame trends: Where other companies build cosmetics stores and battle passes, Larian has succeeded through good old fashioned respect for player freedom and quality craftwork, or so goes some popular posts and articles. A handful of game developers, meanwhile, have cautioned against oversimplifying the lesson, arguing that Baldur's Gate 3 is an anomaly that even big studios won't be able to replicate. Online arguing has ensued.

Harada says Tekken 8 won’t have Denuvo, tells whining fans to 'stop your tedious allergic reactions to every single thing and sit quietly'

Denuvo is everyone's least favourite anti-piracy software. The DRM, which comes as a sneaky passenger alongside games like Payday 3, Far Cry, and—inexplicably—Ghostwire: Tokyo, has been accused of causing performance issues (not without reason) in the games it comes with, and is generally regarded as an unwelcome guest pretty much wherever it's used.

Baldur's Gate 3 Has Hidden Messages In Every Companion's Pants

Just in case you didn't already think that Baldur's Gate 3 was ridiculously detailed, it turns out that every companion has a special message hidden in their underwear.

‘City killers’ and half-giraffes: how many scary asteroids really go past Earth every year?

Asteroids are chunks of rock left over from the formation of our Solar System. Approximately half a billion asteroids with sizes greater than four metres in diameter orbit the Sun, travelling through our Solar System at speeds up to about 30 kilometres per second – about the same speed as Earth.

Bungie's vast new State of the Game blog touches on every aspect of Destiny 2—but they had me at saving my favourite shaders

It's a rough time for Destiny 2's community right now. I'd argue the game itself isn't in too bad of a place, but the combined effect of Lightfall's disappointing campaign and more general burnout with the seasonal model has meant the mood around online discussion has been grim for months now. Step forward today's 'State of the Game' post from Destiny 2 game director Joe Blackburn and the wider team, which attempts to tackle some of the recurring complaints and concerns being raised.
